BOSTON, MA -- Week #21 Eastern Hockey League (EHL) and the Eastern Hockey League Premier (EHLP) Stars of the Week for February 6th through February 12th are presented by Hockey Night in Boston.

North Division

Evan Plunkett - Seacoast Spartans (G)

The EHL is pleased to announce goaltender Evan Plunkett of the Seacoast Spartans as the North Division Star of the Week. The ’03 native of Charlotte, NC had two outstanding showings in net. The first resulted in a 3-2 shootout loss to the Express Hockey Club, but Plunkett was solid, allowing two goals and making 38 saves. The following day, Seacoast returned the favor and won 3-2 via a shootout. Plunkett was locked in once again, this time allowing two goals and making an incredible 59 saves. Plunkett has been key over the last few games for the Spartans and has a 2.65 GAA in 14 appearances. Next up, they host the Valley Jr. Warriors on Thursday at 12-noon.

East Division

Tay Melis - Boston Jr Rangers (F)

The EHL is pleased to announce forward Akezhan Melis from the Boston Jr. Rangers as the East Division Star of the Week. Melis, an ’03 native of Kazakhstan had a goal and three assists in his team’s 5-1 win over the Express. He had a hand in four out of the five Jr. Rangers' goals. Melis continues to be a threat as in 33 games played, he has 51 points (14G, 37A). This is also his second consecutive Star of the Week honor. The Jr. Rangers stand in a tight race in the East Division currently in third place with a 24-11-1 record, but have clinched a playoff position. They host the East Coast Wizards on Thursday morning at 10:30 am at Breakaway Ice Center.

Central Division

Davis Kinne - New York Apple Core (D)

The Central Division Star of the Week for the EHL is defenseman Davis Kinne from the New York Apple Core. The ’03 native of Swampscott, MA had a great week tallying three goals and five assists in three games played. Kinne had three assists in a 9-3 win over the Connecticut Chiefs and followed that up with a hat-trick in a 7-3 win against H.C. Rhode Island. Kinne also had two assists in a 4-3 shootout win over HCRI. He has been a solid blue-liner all season as in 38 games played, Kinne has eight goals and 31 assists. The Apple Core currently stand neck-and-neck with the Railers Jr. Hockey Club atop the Central Division and are 30-8-1, winners of 18 straight games. They look to make it 19 straight when they take on the New Jersey 87’s on Wednesday at 12:30 pm at Jersey Shore Arena.

South Division

Mathew Fortin - New Jersey Bears (F)

The South Division Star of the Week in the EHL is New Jersey Bears forward Mathew Fortin. Fortin, an ’03 native of Canada had a goal in a 4-3 win over the Philadelphia Little Flyers and also a goal and two assists in a 4-0 shutout win over the Pennsylvania Huntsmen. Through 31 games played for the Bears, Fortin has 24 points (12G, 12A) and has been solid all season long. The Bears have clinched a playoff position and hold the top spot in the South Division with a 23-10-5 record. On Wednesday they travel to Power Play Rinks to play the Huntsmen.

New-England Division

Jack Kovacs - New England Wolves (F)

The EHLP is pleased to announce forward Jack Kovacs from the New England Wolves as the New England Division Star of the Week. The ’05 Dana Point, CA native had two goals and an assist in a 6-3 win over the Vermont Lumberjacks. Kovacs also chipped in another assist in a 5-3 loss to the Lumberjacks. Kovacs has been a staple on the forward line for the Wolves all season with 35 points (12G, 23A) in 34 games played. The Wolves have a 16-15-3 record and currently stand in third place in the New England Division. Next up, they take on the Valley Jr. Warriors on Thursday at 11:30 am.

Boston Division

Aiden Dunn - Express Hockey Club (F)

The EHLP Boston Division Star of the Week for week 21 is forward Aiden Dunn from the Express Hockey Club. The ’05 Dedham, ME native had an impressive four-goal performance in his team's big 7-2 win over the Rangers. Dunn was on fire in the game scoring all four goals in the first period. Dunn also chipped in an assist in a 5-4 overtime win against the New Hampshire Avalanche. Dunn has been key for the Express this season with 21 points (9G, 12A) in 33 games. Next up, they take on the Seahawks Hockey Club on Thursday at Tony Kent Arena.

Mid-Atlantic Division

Logan Powell - Union Jr Thunder (G)

The Mid-Atlantic Division Star of the Week for the EHLP is goaltender Logan Powell from the Union Jr. Thunder. The ’04 native of Huntsville, AL had an impressive showing in net in a 5-1 win over the Huntsmen. Powell allowed one goal and made 60 saves in his team’s big win. Next, they host the 87’s on Saturday night at 8:15 pm at Union Sports Arena.
