BOSTON, MA -- Week #7 Eastern Hockey League (EHL) and the Eastern Hockey League Premier (EHLP) Stars of the Week for October 24th through 29th are presented by Hockey Night in Boston.

North Division

Malachy Beyer - New Hampshire Avalanche (D)

The EHL is pleased to announce defenseman Malachy Beyer of the New Hampshire Avalanche as the North Division Star of the Week. The ’03 native of Rye, NY helped his team go 3-0-0 this past week and contributed with five points (3G, 2A) over that span. Beyer had a goal and an assist in the Avalanche’s 5-4 overtime win over the New England Wolves, two assists in a 4-2 win over the Vermont Lumberjacks, and had the winning goal in a 4-3 win to complete the two-game sweep in Burlington, VT. Next up, the Avalanche take on Express Hockey Club, this afternoon at Rodman Arena at 12-noon.

East Division

Josh Girard - Express Hockey Club (G)

The EHL is pleased to announce goaltender Josh Girard of the Express Hockey Club as the East Division Star of the Week. Girard, an ’03 native of Clifton, ME helped his team go 3-0-0 with two impressive outings in net. Girard allowed just two goals and totaled 63 total saves in the two wins. He earned the shutout in the Express’ 1-0 win over the East Coast Wizards. He then allowed just two goals in his team’s 'revenge' 5-2 victory over the Boston Jr. Rangers. In five starts with the Express this season, Girard is 5-0-0 with a 1.86 GAA. The Express look to keep it going when they host the Avalanche later today.

Central Division

Corbin Melie - Railers Jr Hockey Club (D)

The Central Division Star of the Week for the EHL is defenseman Corbin Melie from the Railers Jr. Hockey Club. The ’03 native of Clinton, NY helped the Railers’ go 3-0-0 last week tallying at least one point in all three wins. Melie had a goal and an assist in the Railers’ 4-2 win over the New York Apple Core and had a key goal in their 3-1 victory, completing the two-game sweep in Brewster, NY. Melie also added an assist in a 4-3 win over H.C. Rhode Island. The captain has been a staple on the blue line for Worcester all season long and has played a big role in their 9-1-1 start. Next up, the Railers’ host the Seahawks Hockey Club on Wednesday at 11:30 am at the Worcester Ice Center.

South Division

Roman Winicki - Philadelphia Hockey Club (F)

The South Division Star of the Week in the EHL is Philadelphia Hockey Club forward Roman Winicki. Winicki an ’03 native of East Setauket, NY helped his team go 2-0-0 this past week racking up three goals and three assists. Winicki had two goals and an assist in PHC’s 5-2 win over the Connecticut RoughRiders and had another three-point game (1G, 2A) in their 5-4 win against the Philadelphia Little Flyers. Next up, PHC takes on the Pennsylvania Huntsmen later this morning at 11:30 am.

New-England Division

Zander Lunnie - New Hampshire Avalanche (F)

The EHLP is pleased to announce forward Zander Lunnie from the New Hampshire Avalanche as the New England Division Star of the Week. The ’03 Woodstock, New Brunswick native helped his team go 2-0-0 by tallying three goals and an assist in the pair of victories. Lunnie had two goals in an 8-4 win over the Vermont Lumberjacks and had the game tying goal in their 4-3 overtime victory, to complete the two-game sweep. The Avalanche are off now until November 9th, when they host the New England Wolves at 12 noon.

Boston Division

Matteo Medoro - Railers Jr Hockey Club (G)

The EHLP Boston Division Star of the Week for week seven is goaltender Matteo Medero from the Railers Jr. Hockey Club. The ’06 native of Canada earned a huge win in net beating the Boston Jr. Rangers by the score of 2-1 this past Friday. Medero allowed just one goal and had 31 saves for the red-hot Railers who have started the season 12-1-0. In three starts with Worcester, Medero has gone 3-0-0 with a 1.06 GAA. Next up, Worcester and Medero host the Seahawks, the only team to beat them this season, on Wednesday at 11:45 am.

Mid-Atlantic Division

Matt Beatty - Pennsylvania Huntsmen (G)

The Mid-Atlantic Division Star of the Week for the EHLP is goaltender Matt Beatty from the Pennsylvania Huntsmen. The ’04 native of Broomall, PA went 1-0-0 in net by earning a huge 2-1 victory over the New Jersey 87’s. Beatty allowed just a single goal and had 25 saves. In six starts with the Huntsmen, Beatty is 4-2-0 with a 2.42 GAA. Next up, the Huntsmen play the New Jersey Renegades on Saturday night at SportsCare Arena at 7:45 pm.
