She promised that her latest music video was made solely with her fans in mind, promising to treat the loyal Swifties that are fans of 'glitter' and 'Easter eggs'.

And Taylor Swift stayed true to her word as she released the Bejeweled music video on Tuesday, which was bursting with cryptic clues, references to her past tracks and hints at work to come.

Since the release of her tenth studio album Midnights on Friday, the singer has dropped the music videos for Anti-Hero and now Bejeweled.

Twitter immediately went into meltdown at the new video, which saw Taylor transform from Cinderella to a burlesque dancer and featured an array of celebrity cameos, including Dita Von Teese, Laura Dern, the Haim sisters, make-up artist Pat McGrath, and record producer Jack Antonoff.

During an appearance on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, the 32-year-old singer explained: 'So, basically the first video, Anti-hero, I was like, 'This is gonna be the first single.' And I knew that. But I was like, 'I want to make a video that is just for the fans who like certain things, like glitter and Easter eggs...

'It is like, we have a PDF file for the Easter eggs in this video. Because there are so many that we could not keep track.'

Now MailOnline dissects all the Easter eggs in Taylor Swift's Bejeweled.

Snakes, Swifties and Exile

The music video opens with Taylor playing House Wench Taylor - in a tattered dirty white dress as she cleans vomit off of the floor in an attic but in the background is a violin rendition of Taylor's 2010 hit, Enchanted.

Her attire and hairstyle in the scene resembles her look in the music video for Cardigan, from her 2020 ballad album folklore, with one fan theorising: 'bejeweled is basically taylor saying goodbye or see your later to folklore and evermore and welcoming pop music back into her life.'

Suddenly her mean-spirited step sisters Lady Danielle, Lasy Este and Lady Alana - played by Este, Danielle, and Alana Haim - appear in their clean gowns, and start discussing how they're going to win a prince over - one of whom refers to Taylor as a 'snake' - a reference to the trolling Taylor faced following her fallout with Kanye West and Kim Kardashian.

The stepmother, played by Laura Dern, also uses Taylor's last name in a pun, quipping that the prince: 'tired of her quite quickly or should I say swiftly?', prompting Taylor to dryly respond: 'There it is. That joke never gets old. Thank you, thank you so much.'

Laura also refers to Taylor's 2020 track Exile, noting: 'Lest you forget, you've been exiled here.'

A portrait of Prince Charming then appears - revealing he's played by Jack Antonoff - Taylor's co-writer and producer - with the prince surrounded by cats, Taylor's favorite animal.

As 'House Wench Taylor' then undergoes her magical transformation in order to attend the ball, she is handed a locket with a shell on the lid - possibly a nod to her 2018 New Year's Eve costume party, in which she dressed up as Ariel from The Little Mermaid.

Once she opens the locket, the words 'exile ends' appear, in another nod to her 2020 single.

All dressed up and ready for the ball, Taylor sheds her tatty dress for a bejewelled hooded black coat that bears a striking resemblance to the outfit she wore in her 2017 …Ready For It?' music video.

Once inside the lift, Taylor is seen hovering over the buttons for the levels, eventually settling on level three, with fans believing it signifies the order she's releasing her re-recorded albums in as Speak Now is her third album.

The singer has been re-recording all of her albums following a massive public fall-out with Scooter Braun and her former label, Big Machine.

Fans theorised that the colors in the elevator and floors symbolize Taylor's past albums, with one noting: 'Taylor Swift's necklace and the elevator in #BejeweledMusicVideo resonate with colors of her album, also indicating that Speak Now is the next Taylor's Version re-recorded album! Enchanted also was playing instrumental in the beginning of the music video!';
