Australian press have savagely ripped into Rory Burns after England fell to a nine-wicket defeat in the first Test at the Ashes.
After the optimism of their third-day fightback, England lost their last eight wickets for 77 runs in the morning session.
The Ashes got off to the worst possible start for England at the Gabba, after Burns was out with the very first ball by Mitchell Starc on the opening day.

Things didn't get much better for Burns who didn't fare well fielding and only made it to 13 the next time he took the bat.
Australian outlet The Sydney Morning Herald scored Burns a rating of one out of ten and described the 31-year-old as a 'complete disaster'.
In their player ratings, they said: 'First ball duck, small contribution in the second, fielded poorly.
'Has become a YouTube highlight for the opposition. A complete disaster, if we’re being honest.'
After a horror opening day, things didn't fare much better when he took to the field on Thursday.

After he was bowled for a duck on the opening day, Burns failed to take first strike in England's second innings at the Gabba for just the third time in 55 Test knocks - with Haseeb Hameed stepping in his place.
His first-baller in Brisbane was the ninth time he has failed to survive until the second over of a Test innings – with every instance taking place since the fourth Ashes Test at Old Trafford in September 2019. Eight of those nine innings have been ducks.
Burns almost made it ten dismissals and nine ducks on the third morning of the first Test at Brisbane when he was given lbw by umpire Paul Reiffel from the last ball of Starc's first over.
Fortunately he was spared by technology, which had the delivery going over the stumps.
Burns then scored just 13 in his second innings as England looked to mount a comeback
After advancing to 13, Burns fell in the first over after lunch to a snorter from Australian captain Pat Cummins that induced a reflex prod through to wicketkeeper Alex Carey.
Burns was not the only player to get a low rating, with Jack Leach receiving a 2 as they said he 'almost become a liability' for Joe Root.
Ben Stokes received a three after what was described as a 'understated return' to Test cricket.
Dawid Malan got England's highest rating with a 6.5 which either bettered or matched by nine Australian players.
Travis Head Cummins received the highest ratings for the hosts with a nine out of ten.
