Good Fellowship Ambulance and EMS Training Institute has received the distinction of the American Heart Association’s 2023 Mission: Lifeline EMS – Gold – Achievement Award. This recognition by the AHA is based on Good Fellowship’s 2022 patient care track record which marks the addition of new required stroke measures and systems of care components. Mission: Lifeline is the American Heart Association’s national initiative to advance the system of care for patients with high-risk, time-sensitive disease states, such as severe heart attacks and strokes.

Lifeline EMS is the American Heart Association’s program that recognizes EMS, prehospital agencies for their quality of care for heart attack (STEMI), Acute Coronary Syndrome (ACS), and stroke patients. This recognition program honors and awards those few, special agencies that are transforming the quality of care for patients by connecting all the components of heart attack and stroke care into a smoothly integrated system that reinforces the use of evidence-based guidelines, measures performance, identifies gaps, and engages in quality improvement at a systems level.

Good Fellowship received the top distinction of GOLD in this recognition program for 2023. This is the 6th consecutive year Good Fellowship has received the highest level of recognition possible for the care of heart attack and stroke patients.  In addition, the AHA recognized Good Fellowship on the “Target: Heart Attack Honor Roll”, a new award added by the AHA for year 2023.  The Target Heart Attack (STEMI) distinction focuses on coordinated care between prehospital agencies and the destination hospital. This time-critical award level is limited to those agencies that provide patient transport to STEMI-receiving and STEMI-referring centers.

“Good Fellowship Ambulance is honored to be recognized by the American Heart Association for our dedication in providing optimal care for heart attack and stroke patients,” said Colin Bauer, Good Fellowship’s Assistant Director for Clinical Care. “The Mission: Lifeline program puts proven knowledge and guidelines to work on a daily basis so patients have the best possible chance of survival.”
