Vincent van Gogh famously only sold a couple of paintings before he took his life. Yet somehow, looking at his paintings, it is possible to be suffused with joy; to lose yourself in their vibrant colours and swirls, to imagine that you are part of an ever-changing landscape, where the light radiates through the night sky and vineyards and sunflowers, making everything illuminated.
The 19th-century artist was not appreciated in his lifetime, but van Gogh's works are especially popular today, when his luminous works—and he completed over 2,000!—have been turned into immersive shows that invite art lovers to walk into spaces projected with his paintings and merge with the vivid visuals. Van Gogh 360° is one such show that will open in Mumbai on 20 January 2023, and tickets are now on sale.
Van Gogh 360°: Dates, Venue, Tickets
Van Gogh 360° will show for a fortnight, from 20 January to 17 February 2023, in Mumbai at the World Trade Centre's The Arcade Shopping Centre. This first-of-its-kind exhibition in India will showcase over 300 of van Gogh’s works. Floor-to-ceiling projections will bring alive the Post-Impressionist painter’s dramatic brushstrokes and bright colours. Tickets are for timed slots of 45 minutes to an hour, and will be available on BookMyShow from Saturday 19 November 2023 at 2pm. The show will run everyday from 10am to 9pm, with the last entry at 8pm. From Monday to Thursday, daytime tickets at Rs999 and tickets from 4-8pm at Rs1,099; from Friday to Sunday, daytime tickets at Rs1,299 and tickets from 4-8pm at Rs1,399; flexible entry tickets cost an extra Rs200. Children aged four and younger do not need an entry ticket. The show is wheelchair-accessible. Watch this space for updates.
