LASEMA Gives Situation Report on Helicopter Crash at Oba Akran Avenue, Ikeja,clears site

 



Lagos State Emergence Management Agency (LASEMA) has provided update on the ill-fated helicopter crash at Oba Akran Avenue in Ikeja area of Lagos state on Tuesday ,disclosing that the area has been properly cleared,the  victims have been taken to the hospital for proper medical care ,while the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) will take over investigation of the cause of the crash 


The Agency in a press release by it's permanent Secretary,Dr Olufemi Damilola Oke-Osanyintolu


stated that the agency activated its disaster response plan to the above incident which occurred around 1600hrs.


According to him "a  helicopter containing two (2)persons including the pilot crash landed in front of the United Bank of Africa branch on the road.All four casualties have been retrieved from the aircraft alive. They have been transferred to hospital for further care" 

Furthermore"the area has been cordoned off and is being blanketed to prevent a secondary incident"

 


Dr Oke- Osanyintolu further posited that the Single engine fixed wing - Jabiru aircraft registered 5NCCQ was finally confirmed to contain 2 passengers and it has been safely removed from the road which is now free for vehicular movement. 



Finally "All Emergency Responders are now departing the scene. Further investigation to be carried out by NCAA",he concluded
