Springboks’ 2024 test dates confirmed and Mbombela has been included

The Boks will take on New Zealand, Ireland, Portugal and Argentina in their home tests, with one of these set to be played at Mbombela Stadium.

Mbombela, get ready to dust off those Springbok jerseys. The Boks are returning to the Lowveld in 2024!

SA Rugby officially announced the Boks’ home test schedule for the 2024 test season on December 8.

This includes matches against old foes, New Zealand and Ireland, one against Portugal, who displayed great growth during their Rugby World Cup campaign, and another against Argentina’s Los Pumas.

The Boks are set to conclude their home test season against the Argentinian outfit. This match is scheduled to take place at Mbombela Stadium on September 28.

It will be the Boks’ fifth visit to the Lowveld venue.

They beat the Pumas 30-23 at the ground in 2016 and have a 100% record in Mbombela, with wins over Scotland, Wales, and New Zealand.

This is certainly going to be one to look forward to.

The Springboks’ home test schedule for 2024 is:

July 6: SA vs Ireland (Loftus Versfeld, Pretoria)
July 13: SA vs Ireland (Kings Park, Durban)
July 20: SA vs Portugal (venue TBC)
August 31: SA vs New Zealand (Ellis Park, Johannesburg)
September 7: SA vs New Zealand (DHL Stadium, Cape Town)
September 28: SA vs Argentina (Mbombela Stadium, Nelspruit)
