Indigenous Peoples Day 2023

Friday, June 16th - Celebration at Grassy Plains Elementary School

Cheslatta Carrier Nation would like to thank all elders, staff, and teachers who organized the Indigenous Peoples' Day Celebration at Grassy Plains Elementary School on Friday, June 16th. The event was organized jointly between Cheslatta Carrier Nation's Strong Start Program, Carrier Sekani Family Services, and the Grassy Plains School. Students were able to learn how to make bannock, play Lahal, make mini-drums, speak with elders, and were taught a grand entrance dance. Thank you to all the parents who also helped out and attended the event!
