Printed Matter’s Sunday Zine Fair

Sunday, November 19, 2023

11 am–6 pm

Rubin Pavilion and Robert E. Blum Gallery, 1st Floor

On the opening weekend of Copy Machine Manifestos: Artists Who Make Zines, stop by Printed Matter’s Sunday Zine Fair to explore new and historical zines. The fair will convene more than sixty invited exhibitors, with an emphasis on self-publishing artists and collectives, archives and libraries, and rare and out-of-print dealers.

The Sunday Zine Fair will celebrate the origins of zines and honor the many important contributors to the medium’s diverse legacy, a number of whom are represented within the exhibition. A new generation of publishers working today will also present a range of styles and perspectives on zines.

This program is free and open to the public. Visit sundayzinefair.org for a full list of exhibitors and more details. On November 19, revisit that website to see a new version inviting participating artists and publishers to share sources of inspiration, ultimately creating an explorable index of influence and artistic lineage.

A note from the Brooklyn Museum

Thank you for sharing your concerns regarding materials displayed at Printed Matter’s Sunday Zine Fair. The Museum has worked very hard to create a welcoming and inclusive space for all people, a space of real belonging, and we are sorry that’s not what everyone experienced. Any anti-Semitic views expressed did not represent the views and values of the Brooklyn Museum. We want to be clear that we condemn hate, intolerance, or violence of any kind and are appalled by both the growing anti-Semitism and Islamophobia, as well as the divisions that are gripping the world. As a public institution, we are giving care to reviewing our policies while remaining committed to freedom of artistic expression and striving to create spaces for all to see themselves and others with dignity.

Printed Matter’s Sunday Zine Fair is an event organized and hosted by Printed Matter, Inc. The Brooklyn Museum does not endorse or approve the content of any zines included as part of Printed Matter’s event.
