Married At First Sight UK star Adrienne Naylor has recalled the moment she found out her husband Matt Pilmoor had moved on from their relationship and began dating a castmate. Appearing alongside Erica Roberts, the show's project support worker, she divulged an abundance of behind the scenes gossip.
Sitting down with Cosmopolitan UK, Adrienne explained she was told about Matt’s relationship with co-star Shona Manderson, who had previously been in the experiment with Brad Skelly. The blonde recalled how Erica phoned her after overhearing a phone call between her partner Jordan Gayle and Matt.
Adrienne said: “I found out about Shona and Matt, you (Erica) rang me and at that time I did have a message from Shona in my DMs, but I hadn’t read it at that point. And you rang me and you’re like, ‘what the hell? Basically, Matt’s just been on the phone’.”
Erica then explained how Matt had called Jordan, asking the pair to not tell Adrienne about the relationship, as Shona planned to tell her herself. Erica said: “I was like, ‘I’m not keeping this information in!’, like Adrienne is my girl, my best friend, she needs to know.”
Adrienne went onto claim only one of the castmates ‘reached out’ to her about the situation, which was Porscha Pernelle, who left the experiment before the intruder couples entered the experiment. She said: “But the only person that messaged me a couple days after, believe it or not, was Porscha, and said, ‘You don’t have to explain, how you’re feeling but if you are feeling a certain way, then obviously you’re entitled to feel however the hell you wanna feel, basically.”
The clip ended with Adrienne sending her well-wishes to the new coupling, saying she “hopes” they work out. Cosmo UK’s video has been viewed over a massive 456,000 times, racking up 14,300 likes and 351 comments.
However, not everyone appeared to agree with Adrienne’s confession, claiming she ‘wasn’t that into’ Matt when they were coupled up on the show. Sarah Krienke commented: “But Shona had messaged her? I bet Shona was telling her about her and Matt.”
Angelique argued: “Whether Shona sent her a DM or not, Adrienne isn't owed anything from either of them, she didn't want Matt! They were over.”
Carlie Minion agreed: “Shona messaged you even though she didn’t need to and you didn’t read it now your moaning make it make sense,” while Vicky Hollick wrote: “So Erica was told please don't say anything because Shona wanted to tell her herself....yet…”
Although, not everyone agreed about the new couple, with Ell saying: “Shona will not challenge Matt, she will accept whatever he does….he wants validation and adoration Shona will do that…..rebound relationship.” Meisha Houghton jumped to Adrienne’s defence, writing: “Christ these comments are ridiculous. She's not complaining, she's stating that Erica told her before she was able to read the message.”
