We stayed for three nights in a beautiful suite room at Mirsoum Han and it was an absolutely amazing experience! The employees (Davud & Diyar) always welcomed us with a smile. With their kind, friendly & always solution-oriented attitude they really made us feel very welcome. Smallest suggestions for improvement were implemented literally the next day.
Before I move on to the tasteful rooms I have to mention the breakfast. We have been on the road for 2 weeks and the breakfast here has by far been the most amazing! Medina, the lady in the kitchen, went above and beyond to provide us with a different amazing breakfast every morning. She even made special vitamin drinks for me, because she cared for my pregnancy. I would come back here anytime just for the breakfast!
The stone rooms with high arched ceilings are as beautiful & spacious as shown on the pictures. We had a fire place (Davud helped us set it up every night), an amazing copper bath tub, multiple cozy sitting areas beautifully decorated and a very big modern bathroom. We loved drinking the nespresso coffee provided and just enjoying the beauty of the room. Also the lighting in the room is very romantic. You can see in every corner of the hotel, that it is an acclaimed architect’s work. Also, the sitting area outside has a beautiful view of Mesopotamia.
We would warmly recommend staying in this high quality hotel and love to come back.

A beautiful town, completely different from the Turkiye...
A beautiful town, completely different from the Turkiye known by those who visit the coast. Kurdish, not Turkish, with Christian buildings going back to the fourth century and a culture that encompasses many religions and languages. A good base for a day trip (with guide) to Midyat and other local sites. Plenty of restaurants, serving wide variety of foods. Wine shops, selling local wines, but no bars in the old town.
Really wish we had read more before going. Pictures show the beautiful pale-coloured buildings climbing up the hillside but not the fact that the 'roads' are more often steps. Wonderful small narrow streets, a copper bazaar where people were at work, incredible churches, mosques and madrasas - but you need to have good hips and knees!
An excellent Hamam, open for men mornings and evenings, for women in the afternoons.
For anyone interested in early Christianity, in cultural melting pots, or in somewhere unlike most tourist towns, Mardin and Midyat, and the necropolis at Dara, the area is exceptional. Allow about four days and bring sensible shoes.
Good and cheap bus service from the airport, no need to use taxis.

This was the second time to visit Mardin, this time during a small road trip. Mardin is a place were you don not see Western people. Please do not mention it, otherwise it will ruined as other old citys. Atmosfere specicial on the market is like 200years old. Views are amazing, and most important the people.

Mardin is one good medium city not very bussy for turists. There is one old and interesting city with a lot of loveley mosque, houses and narrow street, very different for others places from Europe. I used this location for travell to Dara and Husankyf on Tigris river.

Mardin is beautiful and ancient and wonderful.
Mardin is beautiful and ancient and wonderful. Everyone was so friendly - I never encountered even one person who wasn't kind and gracious.
I think the only down side to Mardin is all of the litter. Although I saw several workers cleaning, it seems the people of Mardin don't understand the impact of throwing you trash out the window, which I saw a lot of.
Nonetheless, I loved Mardin. The history, the people, the general feel... wonderful! I will return!

Mardin is a very interesting city in the East of Turkey.
Mardin is a very interesting city in the East of Turkey. There are a lot of places to visit for a person who loves history, culture and tasty food. People who live there are different: Turks, Kurds, Syriacs. The city is quite friendly and calm. There are a lot of must-visit places in the city center. It is also interesting to visit the close cities, like Midyat, Sanliurfa, Gobekli Tepe.
But I advice not to go in winter. This time it had started to snow right before the flight. So it was cancelled, the airport was closed for 2 days, as it was no ready for the weather somehow.
There is no such thing as a perfect location in Mardin. Any hotel comes with compromises. In this case the compromise is that it is at the bottom of the hill so you have to walk all the way up through a maze to get to the main street. while that’s unfortunate, it makes for a great hotel if you’re driving your own car as it’s just off the road and there’s plenty of street parking available. That was my situation so I was happy.
Clean stone room. Plenty of space and a nice outdoor space in front.
Bathroom and shower were really nice.
The best part of our stay were Nuh Bey and his team! They represent the culture and nature of the region, which we fell in love with.
Nuh Bey does his best to accommodate the guests and make them feel like at home. He gave us a tour of a few places in Mardin, and helped us find a restaurant to celebrate the NY.
The hotel is located in the very center of Mardin, so a good place to reach all historical sites of the city.
Hotel was listed as having air conditioning and parking. It had neither. Mardin in August is over 45 degrees C and the room was even hotter. The staff clearly stated that they would not charge me for the days I didn't stay (it was unbearable and I prepaid), which was a documented conversation, and they did not refund my money.
Great room! Lovely bed, air con and heating, kettle, fridge, tv, plus en suite with shower, and all in a beautiful old stone building. It really was a bit of luxury. I had an excellent stay here, and a good Turkish breakfast to start every day also. Mardin is so awesome, and here is the perfect place to stay.
I had an impression, that this hotel is quite new, because everything in the room was in very good condition.
The room was clean and there was NO smell of cigarettes there, what is an exception in Turkey in my opinion.
The staff was very friendly and the breakfast buffet various and extensive.
This was truly the most memorable and epic visit in all of a Turkey. Truly a 100% authentic experience. The location was ideal, the staff was warm and very cordial; they treated me and my family like family! The rooms were fit for royalty and the food was out of this world…indescribable!
One of the best place we have ever stayed at.
This place has been recently restored, and it has been well done.
We strongly recommend this place.
People were amazing, and it is very well located in the old Mardin.
We will chose this place again if we visit again Mardin.
The hotel is very beautiful with amazing views and well located, the staff was very kind and always help with any request I have. They give me a lot of information in which places should I visit and what to eat. It is a great place to stay
We did not even see the property. When we arrived in Mardin we found out the address did not exist. We called them and they said the room was not ready. An hour of waiting IN THE RAIN!! later they told us to go to a different hotel.
Great hotel! Very nice historical building, beautiful room. Good Turkish breakfast, great wifi connection. The owner of the hotel is very helpful, he gave lots of information about the city and helped to organize a trip to Dara.
What a spectacular hotel! Beautiful beyond words. Also comfortable and a very friendly staff. We meet the owner and he welcomed us with the hospitality common to that beautiful region of Turkey. I definitely plan to go back!
Located in the center of the city in an old building, the hotel has a great view over Mardin. The room was spacious, temperature adequate, bathroom very spacious and overall it was comfortable
The hotel is clean and have a beautifull viewpoint on a balcony. The aircondition worked. The staff were nice. The hotel is located in the heart of the old city. The price is good.
This is my third time staying at this hotel , the staff make you feel that you are at your own home , very hospitable and kind . Besides they serve the most delicious breakfast
very beautiful place, clean and well located. The staff was really nice, always available and very accommodating. I highly recommend this place for anyone going to Mardin
