Pre-Cut Parchment Paper Keeps Me From Losing My Mind

Baking shouldn't be annoying.

Here’s the thing about a roll of parchment paper: it’s annoying. You pull the end out of its box, approximating the length you need to fit your sheet tray, and you are usually wrong. Sometimes the little jagged teeth cut a perfectly straight line, and sometimes they don’t, causing you to rip the paper in a strange direction. Sometimes you even cut yourself on those pesky fangs (just me?). Worst of all, the edges curl up when you try to lay it down, insisting on the rounded shape they have been stuck in for months. Then, when you need to cut a perfect circle to line the bottom of your round cake pan for this easy upside-down cake, you're about to ready to scream and give up on this whole baking thing altogether.

UGH. See those rolled edges? That jagged cut? No more!

Now, none of these complaints are really big problems per se. But what if I told you there was a way around them that was just as cheap? Enter pre-cut parchment paper. A perfectly packaged $15 stack of sheets (they come by the hundreds!) to fit the size of your sheet tray is the solution to your woes. Even if you have to cut them into circles, the task is made much easier by a flat surface—no curling to get in your way! (Or better yet, they come in pre-cut circles, too.)

Ahh, these are much better. PS: You should make these empanadas, too.

You can find them in some grocery stores. You can order them on Amazon. They have always been there for you, you probably just didn’t know about them until now.
