NRA Gun of the Week: SAR USA K-12 Sport

SAR USA is the exclusive U.S. importer for all firearms and ammunition products made by Turkey’s Sarsilmaz, one of the world’s largest firearm manufacturers. One such import is the parent company's K-12 pistol. Modeled after the iconic CZ 75 pistol, the Sarsilmaz K-12 Sport is built of stainless steel and set up with a single-action operating system and outfitted to race the clock.

At 46.9 ounces empty, the Sarsilmaz pistol delivers superb accuracy and recoil control. The hammer-fired single-action utilizes a 4.7” barrel fitted to a stainless-steel slide. Included with the slide are front and rear serrations and adjustable sights configured for target shooting.

The K-12 Sport is outfitted with the creature comforts that target shooters tend to prefer, including a flared frame and a magazine-well enhancement to ease reloads. Sarsilmaz provides an enlarged left-side magazine release along with a bilateral safety with enlarged paddles on left and right sides. A skeletonized hammer comes standard with the K-12 Sport, too.

Machined stocks and aggressive checkering on the frames’s backstrap and frontstrap help to anchor the gun, improving purchase for fast-action-type target shooting. Given the gun's proven action design, low bore axis and external contours, our testers found that the gun mitigates 9 mm recoil well. We found the single-action K-12 Sport is a pistol that offers prospective purchasers with accuracy and repeatability at a price point that is hard to beat.
