Hardcover. Condition: Very Good. Dust Jacket Condition: Fair. 1st Edition. First edition, first impression, with misprints 'ytyle' on p. 100, 'being' for been on p. 103, a larger letter 'L' as the last letter on p. 293 and blank front flap. Jacket sadly a bit tatty, with edge wear, creasing, small loss and rubbing to jacket and spine, corners and folds rubbed with small loss, some overall time staining, price clipped, previous owner's (religious author Teresa de Bertodano) inscription to ffep, slight lean, slight page fore edge foxing. Internally tight and clean, overall a vg+ copy for its age. 311pp. The Antigua, Penny, Puce is the rarest and most beautiful stamp in the world. That was how the auctioneer announced it, and from that moment the feud began in earnest, for as children they had agreed to share Oliver's schoolboy stamp collection, and Jane now wanted her rightful share. One of Robert Graves' most popular and satirical novels, now very scarce in this first edition.

Hardcover. Condition: Very Good. 1st Edition. 245 pp. Volume 1 - Autumn 1935. A clean, bright and entirely well bound copy of the Riding/Graves collaboration. Normal toning externally. Previous owner's bookplate to verso. The Epilogue essays, published when the literary partnership of Laura Riding and Robert Graves was its height in their Spanish commune, illustrate their working relationship and the background of their later very different careers. In 1935 'The Idea of God' launched the experiment of Epilogue. The original volumes, published by Seizin Press (Majorca) and Constable jointly, are scarce. Quite apart from their intrinsic interest, they offer rich source material for the two authors. Laura (Riding) Jackson never reprinted her Epilogue work, while Graves republished some of his in revised form. Postage without profit will be assessed at point of sale.
