Memes for a Monday

Time for a healthy mix of feline and canine memes to start the week

I don’t really agree with anthropomorphism and think Walt Disney has a great deal to answer for but the looking on this dog’s face is priceless.

You can conquer the world but good luck with a cat!

Sort of makes you want to question the fairness of this whole evolution thing!

Everyone has creation myths these days – why not cat?

The wonders of the machine age!

As always something for Doctor Spo.

As you kidding – you could clean up on the talk show circuit with that act!

The Greta Garbo of cats? Yes I know – who is Greta Garbo? Sigh.

I swear RF hangs around our house 24/7. There are only two but it must be what like the clammier was like for the loaves and fishes!

I’m puzzled by the reference to a “young adult” and then the 10 year daughter – are we not allowed to call them “children” anymore? I get so confused with all this PC stuff.

The word for June 6th is:
Anthropomorphism /ˌanTHrəpəˈmôrfizəm/: [noun]
The attribution of human characteristics or behavior to a god, animal, or object.
Derived from the verb form anthropomorphize, itself derived from the Greek ánthrōpos (ἄνθρωπος, lit. “human”) and morphē (μορφή, “form”). It is first attested in 1753, originally in reference to the heresy of applying a human form to the Christian God.

  1. Greta who?

My understanding is that “young adult” is the genre. They don’t call them “children’s” books because they don’t have many pictures and the themes are dark and distressing. They don’t call them “teen” books because apparently 10 year olds read them. They don’t call them “tween” books because then teenagers won’t read them. So what are you going to do? (But seriously: if you are going to follow an account called “Bad jokes by Jeff” what do you expect?)
