The puzzles dont feel intuitive. just feels like you have to stumble around to get the perfect item needed for the next phase.

Discolored is a first-person puzzle game, where your objective is to restore color to a diner and its surrounding area which is mysteriously grayscale. The main puzzle mechanic is that you have to find RGB color-restoring prisms and put them in their slot, but sometimes when you restore a color it also restores a part of the world that hinders you. Length-wise, it can be finished in around 1-2 hours, but I appreciate how the devs allow us to save anytime, not relying on checkpoints.

Unlike Godbey's previous game The Search, this one can be played fully in 3D like a walking sim. And personally, I like the concept of the puzzles and the silent atmosphere, so unique. It's not too hard, despite the minimalist storytelling there is a hint system. If you like puzzle games you should give this title a try. There is a sequel coming soon, and from the looks of it, Discolored 2 is gonna be like this but longer, with more story and horror elements thrown in.

This game has an interesting idea and concept but my main issue with it are the puzzles. They subscribe to the idea of use everything on everything. For example how would I ever think to use the wet picture outside on the static TV to fix its signal? It is a good thing that there are hints because otherwise I would have never been able to finish the game.
