2 Fallacious reasoning is “false thinking.” People use fallacious reasoning when they draw incorrect or false conclusions. Fallacious reasoning may be either illogical or based on incomplete information. For an argument to be convincing, it must be based on logic or correct reasoning. FALLACIOUS REASONING

3 When stating an opinion, it is best if the opinion is backed up by evidence, such as: The different types of fallacious reasoning include:  Hasty Generalization: Conclusions drawn from weak or insufficient evidence. FALLACIOUS REASONING FactsExamples StatisticsExpert Testimony

4  False Cause and Effect: Assuming that one event caused another, simply because one happened first.  Either/Or: The assumption that a problem or situation has only one possible cause or resolution, where they may be several.  Stereotyping: Believing that all members of a group share a certain characteristic.  Name-Calling: Attacking the person who is making the argument, rather than the argument itself. FALLACIOUS REASONING
