Why You Must Beware of Evil Workers

[Philippians 3:2,17-21 KJV] “Beware of dogs, beware of evil workers, beware of the concision”.

[17] “Brethren, be followers together of me, and mark them which walk so as ye have us for an ensample. [18] (For many walk, of whom I have told you often, and now tell you even weeping, that they are the enemies of the cross of Christ: [19] Whose end is destruction, whose God is their belly, and whose glory is in their shame, who mind earthly things.)”

[20] “For our conversation is in heaven; from whence also we look for the Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ: [21] Who shall change our vile body, that it may be fashioned like unto his glorious body, according to the working whereby he is able even to subdue all things unto himself.”

In every church and every organisation, there are people who present themselves as helpers and workers, yet they undermine the work and effectiveness of the leadership. The following are some signs of these brethren;

1. They cannot keep, or follow leadership or simple instructions:

They are always in rebellion. They always have a divergent opinion from what has been instructed. We can mention Achan in the days of Joshua who’s rebellion caused massive defeat to Israel at Ai. We can also mention Eve, the wife of Adam, who misled her husband to eat the fruit that God had forbidden.

2. They serve well only when there is a monetary incentive or some earthly benefit:

These brethren love money, they only serve with all their might when money is involved. They don’t mind trading important relationships and loyalties for a few pieces of silver. We can mention Delilah’s trade of Samson for money as a classic example of this. Other examples are Judas’ betrayal of Jesus for 30 pieces of silver, and Demas’ abandonment of Paul because he loved the world.

3. They don’t follow leadership willing:

Even though they work here, they hold other leaders and organisations in much higher repute. They are arrogant rebellious people who never seem to be able to fall in line. They are rebellious brute beasts that cannot submit. They are deviants.

Evil workers are everywhere and their influence is so contagious and has a bad effect. Evil workers are sinners who spoil much good. They are enemies of the cross. You must be careful about them because their words and influence eat deep like cancer. They are traitors from within who work at night when everyone else has gone to sleep. They speak with our accent but they don’t have our vision. They are self-seeking and highly contagious.

[2 Timothy 2:14-18 KJV] “Of these things put them in remembrance, charging them before the Lord that they strive not about words to no profit, but to the subverting of the hearers. [15] Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth”.

[16] “But shun profane and vain babblings: for they will increase unto more ungodliness. [17] And their word will eat as doth a canker: of whom is Hymenaeus and Philetus; [18] Who concerning the truth have erred, saying that the resurrection is past already; and overthrow the faith of some.”

You must beware of them because, as I said, their words eat like cancer, and they can overthrow the faith of many. They are sinners who spoil much God. When they speak, it’s as though they have a spell or charm. I am talking about strange personalities who can incite people to rebel and do evil. If you really want to finish strong and finish better than you started, then beware of these folks.

Stay safe, I love you!
