The Defenders: Elodie Yung to return as Elektra — exclusive

She's back: Elektra (Elodie Yung) will return as a series regular in The Defenders, the Netflix drama uniting Marvel's small-screen heroes Daredevil (Charlie Cox), Jessica Jones (Krysten Ritter), Luke Cage (Mike Colter), and Iron Fist (Finn Jones) into one super-team, EW has exclusively learned.

Her reappearance shouldn't be a surprise to Daredevil fans. As the first The Defenders teaser illustrated, the foursome will be facing the Hand, the sinister group that — eight-month-old spoiler alert! — was last seen recovering Elektra's corpse after she died in the season 2 finale. Matt Murdock's on-again, off-again love interest and sai-wielding vigilante first arrived in Hell's Kitchen to investigate the Hand, taking Daredevil with her on a mission that led them both against the Yakuza and to a mysterious hole dug deep into New York City. The Hand later revealed that Elektra was a weapon of theirs — namely, the mysterious Black Sky, which fostered her killer instincts. And now that the Hand has the Black Sky on their side, who knows what they'll be capable of?

The Defenders, which also stars Sigourney Weaver as the villain, will debut in 2017 on Netflix.
