Kiefer Sutherland

Summary

Kiefer William Frederick Dempsey George Rufus Sutherland was born on December 21, 1966 in London, England. Sutherland was born into the business of acting, as his father (Donald Sutherland) and mother (Shirley Douglas) were both actors. Sutherland appeared in numerous films during the 80s, including Stand By Me, The Lost Boys, and the Young Guns films. Later films in his career include Dark City, A Few Good Men, and Phone Booth.

Though having a long list of films to his name, Sutherland is perhaps best known for his role of Jack Bauer in the television series 24, which he started on in 2001. The show itself has been nominated several times itself by both the Emmys and Golden Globes, and Sutherland even snagged a Golden Globe win for Best Performance by a Lead Actor in a Drama series in 2002 and won the 2006 Emmy for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series.
