If you wanted to be as gaudy as possible what would you do? Let’s say you begin with a quiet green.
What’s the worst colour you can top it with?
Of course! A bright scarlet red, shining like a lighthouse in the green.
So far so good, but not enough. Not nearly enough.
Let’s keep going.
What’s the gaudiest contrast to red?
Oh, yes, let’s put in a slash of shiny black.
Olive green, scarlet and black. Isn’t it missing something?
Of course, a bit of eye catching yellow, what else.
There we are. All done and as gaudy as possible.
Take a look.
The common green Barbet or Coppersmith, named after its continuous call which sounds like a smith hitting copper over and over again.
Only nature can make this gaudy little bird so beautiful.
Where did you spot these pretty birdies? Great captures!!! Amazingly beautiful writing that almost made me wonder what that gaudy object was that you were talking about!!! Thanks for sharing.
