Queen Barbie doll among souvenirs to celebrate Platinum Jubilee

The Queen has been immortalised in doll form as toy brand Mattel unveils a special Barbie to mark the monarch's Platinum Jubilee.

It features a tiara modelled on Queen Mary's fringe tiara, which the Queen wore on her own wedding day.

A pink ribbon imitates one given to the Queen by her father George VI, and a pale blue imitates one from her grandfather George V.

Presented in a box inspired by Buckingham Palace, the doll is among an array of memorabilia being released to honour Her Majesty's 70 years on the throne.

The limited-edition Barbie, which will be sold at Harrods, Hamley's, Selfridges, John Lewis and on Amazon, was revealed as the Queen celebrates her 96th birthday on Thursday.

She has been hailed as an "inspiration" on Prince William and the Duchess of Cambridge's Kensington Royal Twitter account.

"It's particularly special to be celebrating in this Platinum Jubilee year," the tweet added.

• Teacup and saucer

A limited run of 1,000, this tea set is inspired by the purple and gold Robe of Estate worn by the Queen at her Coronation in 1953 and also features the Royal Court of Arms.

• Commemorative coin

A £5 coin issued by the Royal Mint showcases a portrait of the Queen, a keen equestrian, on horseback on one side, and a design by artist John Bergdahl on the reverse.

• Mugs

Millions of mugs will be made to remember the Platinum Jubilee including this design which features the Queen's beloved Corgis.

• Champagne glasses

Hand-cut crystal flutes engraved with an emblem to depict the national flowers of the United Kingdom.

• Window stickers

Designs including a young Queen Elizabeth waving to fans and a smiling Corgi saying "Happy Jubilee Ma'am" are on sale for royal fans wishing to decorate their home for the occasion.

• Teddy bears

A limited-edition keepsake wearing a sash inspired by the Robe of Estate, including gold embroidered olive branches and wheat ears to symbolise peace and prosperity, is available for £225.

A more budget-friendly version can be purchased for £19.99.

• Biscuits

A Platinum Jubilee tin designed in collaboration with Buckingham Palace contains all the pomp and circumstance to honour the occasion, including lemon flavoured biscuits shaped as carriages, crowns and corgis.

• Carriage clock

A limited run of 50 carriage clocks, priced at £3,495 each, have been produced by jewellers Mappin and Webb, holders of Royal Warrants - a mark of recognition for those who have supplied goods or services to The Queen, Prince Philip and Prince Charles.

• Water bottle

The 600ml bottle is among a variety of items featuring artist Arnold Machin's iconic image of the monarch, displayed on coins and stamps, based on pictures taken by photographer Dorothy Wilding shortly after the Queen's accession to the throne.
