NEW DESIGN! The MTF C-6 inspired Independent Front Suspension kit!
This is a weld in system built for those who are seeking more performance than just casual driving. This system is designed for autocross and other competitive driving or for the folks that enjoy doing a little spirited driving. While the MTF IFS is a fine piece of engineering designed for the everyday driver, the C6 offers certain advantages compared to IFS suspension including:
Taller knuckles compared to what is offered on our IFS Mustang II spindles. Although the IFS is very much improved over the late 60’s OEM stock suspension and offers a perfect late model feel for a street car and does handle well, the C6 will allow for a firmer and smoother suspension reaction to aggressive hard cornering and quicker steering response.
Adjustable upper ball joint for fine tuning the suspension while also providing quick caster / camber adjustments. While our IFS uses upper control arm shims for permanent alignment adjustments only. The C6 uses both upper control arm shims for permanent alignment and an upper adjustable ball joint for additional camber/caster adjustments. This allows for quick resettable adjustments to the camber/caster degree changes which allows for 6 plus/minus degrees for the track or non typical everyday driving. The camber/caster adjustments can be quickly reset back to the previous settings using reference lines on the adjuster.
American made solid billet machine surfaced aluminum knuckles for uncompromising strength and beauty.
Fully splined torsion bar that allows handling adjustment using the splines for different cornering and torsional actions vs the standard torsion bar on the IFS.
Sealed bearing hub design that requires no maintenance, so no need for grease packing of axle bearings. By comparison, the IFS is a design that uses a dual bearing hub that fits over a forged axle with serviceable bearings.
The hub utilizes a standard Ford 5-bolt pattern, same as our regular IFS.
Recommended tire size for years 1965-70 is 245/40 on either a 17x8 or 18x8 wheel with 4.75” backspacing.
Please Note: We do not have a set up for the 351 Cleveland. The 351C crankshaft sits a lot lower in the block. So, even though a rear sump oil pan is a step in the right direction, the 351C engines require an engine cradle with an open center due to the depth of the crank assembly. Unfortunately, we haven't had enough interest to develop a cradle specifically for the Cleveland.
