I am giving Power Party events 5 stars for their customer service.
I ordered a gigantic monster truck bounce house for my sons 5th birthday along with a few other tables, chairs, and a tent.
They were pretty prompt about returning my calls or emails and flexible with multiple changes I made to my order last minute.
The delivery men were on time for drop off and pick up.
However when my bounce house was set up we noticed a tear on one of the wheels of the truck which didn't inflate. It was pretty unfortunate because I was planning this to be the backdrop to all of our pictures. The delivery men couldn't do anything to fix it.
I emailed the company and tried to call but got no response. I paid the full amount but felt as though I didn't get what I paid for (this bounce house was pretty pricey since it was a large one).
Although I never received a call back, just today I received a check in the mail for a partial refund and a note that they were giving me some money back as a good faith gesture.

Their 1 star rating is about a star too high! You would think that when you are charged top dollar to provide catering, entertainers, fun foods, and equipment for a kids party, they would at least check that everything worked beforehand. Along with any prearranged pertinent details given to the entertainers in order to ensure a successful party.
The first sign I should have chosen a different company is when they were insistent on charging me the incorrect sales tax and wouldn't honor extending a discount when I went with an entire package. Due to time constraints, I reluctantly accepted the contract.
However, in addition to the face painter showing up 25 minutes late and that wanted to leave 15 mins early, one of the main fun food machine never worked and the balloon maker showed up dress as a clown (which I stated in writing my daughter was terrified of). I spoke to the entertainer which gave me a hard time about removing the costume and I would have to provide him with a new outfit. WTF!? I had to call the office, my planner was not available but someone else contacted the entertainer after I told her he cannot stay dressed as a clown and to at least remove the make-up and wig. Apparently, the clown blamed Power Party and Power Party blamed the clown.
Anyway, I understand things happen and go wrong, but even something as simple as setting up the food and condiments in the shade instead of the scorching sun aren't things I should have to be correcting when I am paying for this service. Even when something goes wrong, they will make NO efforts to correct without you being persistent for them to do so and even then, you are far from being made even a reasonable offer to resolve. NO ACCOUNTABILITY WHATSOEVER!
The aftermath, I requested a refund for ONLY the food machine and part of the attendant fee that was on my contract (2 attendants, which had one less machine to operate for my guests). I did not even mention nor request any retribution on the "110% Satisfaction" Yazmin stated her performers always provide (which I learned they subcontract form another company, btw).
It took me repeatedly contacting my planner, Yazmin to FINALLY (a month later) get a refund for only the machine rental fee and part of the erroneously charged sales tax with an email string from below Yazmin Garcia's unapologetic reply (for taking over a month to get me a resolution) stating to reference the breakdown form Maria LaCasse emphasizing they are "ONLY" refunding me the machine rental fee because we still had use of both attendants. What happen to 110% satisfaction, what happened to common sense on making it right when your company made a minimum of 4 screw ups on ONE DAY for one party that you were paid quite well for.
When I brought the fact that I did not request any other sort of reimbursement for the other issues and stress they caused that day, I was basically ignored and it's now been almost two more weeks without any correction on their behalf...
Next stop, Dept of Revenue as I'm sure I am not the only one they are overcharging and erroneously billing sales tax on non-taxable items. Followed up with a report to The Broward parks system as the are on their list of approved providers.

I decided to go with with this company for an event at my home, despite the negative reviews. We were celebrating my son's first birthday, and with it being so hot outdoors in Miami, we went with a Luau themed pool party. We were expecting close to 100 guests.
After my experience with PPE, I felt compelled to return to Yelp ad post my own review, which was the extreme OPPOSITE of the other reviewers. From start to finish my event was handled by Yazmin, who quickly collected the long list of items I needed to rent, and sent over a quote via email. To my surprise, the pricing was very competitive, so we decided to move forward. I had several communications, both by email and phone, with Yazmin and other PPE employees, and every interaction leading to the day of my event was a pleasure. Their customer service skills were definitely beyond my expectation, and my questions were answered quickly. There were even a few last minute items I needed to add to my order, and they took care of it with no hassles whatsoever.
Since my event started at 11 am, PPE offered to deliver everything the night before at no extra cost. This was perfect because it allowed me to set up early an with no stress. The delivery guys were on time, arriving at the exact time Yazmin gave me on the phone. They were very friendly and set things up exactly the way I asked. Their chairs and tables were in great condition, which is difficult to find now a days. The linens were very clean, unwrinkled, and the fabric was vibrant. One of the mist fans we ordered was not working properly, but they called Yazmin who quickly coordinated for another one to be delivered on the next truck later that evening.
We rented a large bounce house and a giant water slide. The slide was a hit, and an awesome combination for the pool. Even the adults had a blast on it! We had absolutely no issues with the house or slide.
Everything was picked up at the time we agreed. They gathered everything quickly, and left my back yard just as they found it.
I had such a great experience, I know I will be using PPE for any other party or event in the future.

Giving them 2 stars because they showed up to the event on time and set everything back. The obstacle course was great, the ice cone machine is SO old I was a little disappointed they charge $75 for something so ancient but it worked so whatever.
When they showed up at 6 to pick up the obstacle course, my daughters friends were still playing so I rented it for one more hour. ($100) they charged me for 2 hours ($200) I've been talking to their office manager via email to resolve the $100. Today was the last straw as it's been 2 weeks since we started talking, the people who picked up the bounce house lied about the pick up time, she has no sense of customer service and their business ethics are awful. This event company is pathetic. We're at an event with 85 children from a local charity paid for by sponsors. At 4pm the slides close and they said the last four kids who were waiting online can go. Then the manager comes over and kicks the 4 kids off the ride. Be careful when hiring a party vendor that doesn't care about our local community or our children.

I NEVER said I didn't want people in my home after any certain time and my husband NEVER verified any of this.Absolutely ridiculous! No matter how many times we called you would never speak to us directly, but you will post here to save face. I have spoken to others in the business for other parties and know that your crude business tactics were not reserved just for us. Several told me they would never work with you again because you are shady.

Jennifer, thank you for taking the time to comment on our services. Let me begin by saying that the PPE family prides itself on being dependable and delivering quality equipment along with customer service at affordable prices. Let me address the issues you brought up...yes, our standard rental block for inflatable games is that of 4-hours but, if you recall, when you booked with us you specifically mentioned that you did not want your guests in your home that long and that a 3-hour block would suffice. With that said, we obviously planned our schedule and routes accordingly. It was not until our crew was already on-site to pick up at the scheduled time, that you requested keeping the unit for a little longer and wanted to revert, at that time, to the 4 hours. This is the only reason that an additional cost came into play as we would now have to re-route the crew causing an additional expense for staff. In consideration, you were given a discounted rate for the time extension. Our staff was re-directed to another pick-up and then instructed to come back because you were, at that point, the last pick-up of the day. Our crew returned when they were done rather than driving around town consuming fuel and staged at your residence awaiting the time that had been extended for you to expire. Your husband, himself, before your time expired, came out to our truck and informed our crew that you were done with the inflatable and that they could go ahead and pick-up. In regards to the delivery time, Yes, it was based on numerous events scheduled for that day and the fact that your residence was the closest in proximity to our warehouse location but, please also remember that you were contacted by us ahead of time and advised that your delivery would be early and you agreed. Let me end by correcting you also on your statement in regards to no one taking your phone calls. Your husband did in fact speak to our office manager the work week following your event date and explained everything contained herein. Once again, we thank you for your time and feel that your booking was handled appropriately in accordance to our policies and procedures. We continue to feel that we do our very best to make sure that every event is handled with the care it deserves from us.
Apr 26, 2013Previous reviewI recommend avoiding this company at all costs. I had a party for my 2 and 4 year old and rented a bounce house, slide and tables and chairs. The party began at 11, but they showed up at 6:22am to drop off, waking up the kids who then slept through half the party because they were so tired. The worst part, however, is that they arrived to pick up the equipment before the party was over and demanded $100 cash (negotiated down from $150 that they originally demanded) on the spot, or they would take all of the equipment, even though my contract specified 4 hours, it had been only 3 AND even though they were aware of the event ending time. After we came up with the $100 cash, they told me they would be back in 2-3 hours and then showed up in an hour and a half. ***In response to the owners reply, I actually spoke directly with the company to reserve and in addition, attempted to contact him numerous times following the event and he refused to speak to either myself or my husband. Trust me, don't use these guys.

I ordered a bounce house for a birthday party, I had a signed contract, a phone confirmation and an email confirmation. On the day of the event, they did not show up or called. When I called after no one showed up, they claimed they had another date on their calendar, even though my signed contract had the right date. Worst experience I had. Then the owner offered a phone number of a company near me to see if they could accommodate me, but the company was in another county.

Do not rent from them! I'm giving them 1 star because 0 is not an option. I have never put in a review for anything but I want to make sure this horrible service doesn't go unnoticed. I wish I would have read the reviews below from other customers before renting from them. The popcorn machine was defective. The unicyclist they sent me was dressed super innapropriate for a kid's party. Two face painters showed up which I had to deal with instead of enjoying my daughter's party and the balloon artist I paid for didn't show up. The face painter called her husband who dressed as a clown to come do balloons. Complete disaster. I called them to complain, nobody wanted to take accountability. I spoke to the owner who said he would not refund any money. He offered to send me a water slide for free to make up for it and later did not answer the phone. His employees claimed all their water slides are out for the whole summer. Owner loves to give the run around making excuses for all their mistakes. What a sorry excuse for a company and a complete disappointing experience overall. Big company that doesn't care about customer service. I will take the smaller more personal companies any day.
