What to Expect from Our Training: Our philosophy for dog training is the idea of helping families live the most full lives available with their dogs, and for the dogs to live the fullest lives possible too! Basic obedience helps people communicate with their dogs, when dogs don't normally share our language. This communication is in the form of commands, body language and even demeanor. It works much better to guide and teach a dog what TO DO rather than have them guess about what NOT to do! Our mission is to give dogs (and their people!) the most freedom and enjoyment of life. Having an awesome, well-mannered dog who listens reliably - that's so much fun! We'll make sure your dog listens even in distracting real life situations so you can have the freedom to take your dog with you wherever you'd like. For our dogs (and our clients' dogs!), freedom, activity, fun, and mental work make their lives so much more enjoyable. Sure dogs enjoy food (and we do use food rewards when appropriate!) but nothing trumps an adventure. Being able to bring a dog to as many places as it is possible enriches not only the dog's life but the dog owner's life as well. It forms a deep friendship, as a reward for all involved.

Atticus and Zuul miss their Uncle Robert and Auntie Robin so much, you can tell they were well cared for. Thank you for making our perfect boys even more perfect. Robin put in extra effort to help teach them to work with me in my wheelchair. I greatly appreciate you guys and look forward to working with you to further our boys tutelage

We are amazed at all the hard work in progress has been made with our puppy. Robyn is incredibly knowledgeable patient with both the dogs and the owners.

Kate S.Boston, MA617Mar 27, 2012First to ReviewAvoid Mannerly Mutts, as others have mentioned. When I spoke to her about dog training, owner Robin was very confrontational and rude. I don't like her supported methods of dog training (shock collars, et al) and the second we disagreed she became a clinging barnacle of cyberstalking proportions.
The positive, basic training Robin of Mannerly Mutts can provide is something you get for much less money (and in a much better environment) at your local Petco or pet shop that offers training courses. Avoid the hassle of Mannerly Mutts' owner and go elsewhere; Piscataqua Obedience Club, Finish Forward, Pawsitive Steps, etc.Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0Business owner information

This person never called here from her city or state (I am in Maine), and was never a customer of Mannerly Mutts. However, the other person posting a bogus review from a rescue, where I refused to take an aggressive dog, is from the same area. She also happens to have on her friend list the same other friend posting on here bogus reviews, who is also affiliated with the rescue. Go figure.
Please stop allowing these bogus people to keep their reviews on here. THEY ARE NOT CUSTOMERS NOR HAVE THEY EVER TALKEDTOME. THEY ARE SIMPLY IRRATE THAT I DID NOT TAKE IN AN AGGRESSIVE DOG FOR BEAU BUDDY RESCUE.
Andy G.Alfred, ME65Feb 3, 2014I started as a day boarding client for the pups while my wife and I were at work. Since then I've used Mannerly Mutts for training lessons and week long boarding for many family vacations. The Rubins have even helped me with a family dog I inherited after a death.
I could not be more pleased Mannerly Mutts. On boarding days I typically talk with Robin or Robert about anything from dog advice to basketball! I find the Rubins will go out of their way to ensure a great experience for me and my dogs. From meeting me half way down the driveway because of weather to keeping the dogs a bit later to accommodate my schedule.
I consider myself very fortunate to have found Mannerly Mutts. The dogs too! At home everyone's happy thanks to the care the dogs get as well as the training for me!Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0
