Located in the back corner of a market, Anake's lived up to its great reviews. I've been having an açai bowl almost every day for the past week at different spots in Honolulu and Kauai. Anake's has the best prices so far: a medium (16 oz) bowl only costs $10.75; the size was big enough for me. I got the Funky Monkey bowl, which was so flavorful. Service was given with aloha spirit, and there is ample seating inside for you to enjoy your order.

Acai bowl goodness, here I come. This place had been highly recommended by a dear friend so of course we had to give it a try when were in the area~ Hidden inside a little grocery store of sorts, Anake's Juice Bar is quaint and unassuming but has a great variety of acai bowls, juices, smoothies, etc. I will say that the line was thriving when we went in but seemed to move rather quickly which was nice. We were a bit split over what to get and my original intention was to ask a couple questions at the counter though service was a bit brusque due to the long line and I didn't to waste their time. We ended up with the poipu paradise (no banana in this one!) and Da Dragon.
I should have started the review with the warning that my husband detests banana and just avoids smoothies and soft serves and acai bowls with it since it's a pretty dominant flavor. Hence, the poipu paradise came in clutch for him. Flavor wise both were good and filling -- I will say even the small bowl had me really full and off fruit for the rest of the day so bewarned if you get the larger size. Prices are a bit steep but tis the economy, especially with fruit and honey prices these days.
Still a solid acai bowl spot to check out if you're in the area! Also love that there's a good amt of parking and a mexican food spot nestled right nearby to pair with your acai treats.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Catherine G.Los Angeles, CA1935537Mar 30, 2024
Honestly, given the high reviews & recommendations, I had such high hopes for the place. I ordered a classic bowl & swapped out bee pollen for goji berries. However, I was very disappointed with the taste of the açaí itself. It's too juice like for my tasting. If you like more juice like açaí bowl, then this place is for you. But, as someone who resides mainland in Los Angeles County, I am exposed to way better açaí bowls back home. I tried, I really did try to like it but I could only eat a few spoonfuls before I had to sadly toss it. It looked promising. The place was full. And the location is in the back of a market with cute little eating area. Sadly, I will not be back & I do not recommend. Just not my liking.
2 stars only because friendly nice service & cute place. Minus 3 stars because I didn't like it.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 1 - Dec 19, 2023
I've been coming to this spot for years. It's kind of hidden as you have to walk through the grocery store to the back to find it but they serve up some solid açaí bowls and smoothies. There is seating available in the back and a cute local clothing store to browse through while you wait for your food. I love the variety of bowls offered and I ordered the base of Funky Monkey with the Poipu paradise toppings. My bowl for sure didn't have peanut butter which was disappointing but still a favorite for açaí bowls on the island

I absolutely LOVED this place during my time in Kauai staying on the south part of the island. It's a cute place in the back of a small grocery store so may be hard to find at first, but that's where gems hide to be discovered! I love that they have a wide variety of bowls available, there's some seating room in the back setup, and you can browse the local clothing store (also in the grocery store) or stock up on some local goods as you wait.
The main thing I love about this place is that the bowls are HUGE! They would be a feat to finish in one sitting which makes them great for sharing or to save a bit for a later snack. It's not super fast but I take that with the spirit that most of Kauai is taking things at island time.
When there, we got the Sau Sai and Da Dragon bowls. Sau Sai is your traditional Acai bowl and Da Dragon is more dragonfruit based. Both were delicious! Then we even went back another day for more! All the bowls were amazing but the Sau Sai would probably be my favorite to get again and again. But really don't think you can go wrong.
My only slight concern are the hours as they are only open from 8am - 2pm, so get it in the morning or for lunch!Helpful 3Thanks 1Love this 1Oh no 0 - 366210484Jan 3, 2024
I had one of the best acai bowls I've ever had at Anake's. Do yourself a favor and check out this unassuming spot at the back of a grocery store. There are some tables to dine there and the value is great. We ordered larges but the medium would've been more than enough for a meal. The fruit was fresh and refreshing, and the acai blend was creamy and light. I'll definitely be back for more. The food itself was prepared within 10 minutes after ordering and the girls working the bar were pleasant.

Love this place!! Truly one of my favorite spots for açaí bowls, although my favorite bowl is the pitaya one. So good and refreshing and the service is so quick!

Great little juice bar inside of the market in the back left. The ladies behind the bar today are super friendly!
My son got his dragonfruit smoothie delicious. We got the Da sherk, Kukui ula, dawn patrol Juices, are delicious. I really enjoyed my dawn patrol with the right amount of lemon. The Da shrek didn't realize it would be heavy on the ginger, maybe less, and it would have been a hit.
I left wanting to order an Acai bowls which looked amazing. Unfortunately, after lunch, we didn't have room for anything else.
Tip*** Bring cash as they charge small fee for cards.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 1 - Mary F.Cincinnati, OH02828Feb 16, 2024
Absolute BEST bowls ever Had one every morning I was there!! The grocery store that it is located inside is also fantastic. There's a small coffee shop and Eden's coffee truck also sits near. The $1 coffee that the market sells is also very good coffee as on Sunday the little coffee shop is closed.

These are still one of my favorite açaí bowls on the islands! My favorite one is the Poipu Paradise, substitute the coconut for the Lilikoi drizzle (this makes all the difference for me. The tang is out of this world) and extra honey for a little more sweetness.
Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Nov 12, 2021Previous reviewWe are so grateful to have found this place, and that it is so close to our hotel. I have been every morning this week, and plan to continue for the second week of our trip as well. I've also tried all of the bowls except the 808. My favorite is the Hulk. It tastes so tropical with all of the pineapple and mango chunks, and there are lots of other fruit chunks as well (raspberry, kiwi, etc) I also love the kale/spirulina layer. Super yummy!! I also really love the Sau Sai with added almond butter on top. It's sweet and fruity but it has yogurt, for those that are sensitive to dairy. I didn't realize that and I've had a runny nose all day. My sister loves the funky monkey. It's mild and peanut buttery. The Poipu Paradise is good too with all the yummy tropical fruit, but maybe a little tart for my taste. If I get it again I'll get extra honey to sweeten it up a bit (I did the next day and let me tell you, it made all the difference! It's now my favorite one, as well as most of my family!!). The Da Dragon which has pitaya in it is an interesting flavor. It was good, but slightly sour and wasn't one of our favorites. I usually get the Hulk and the Sau Sai but you really can't go wrong with any of them. The workers are nice and really hard workers. Also, check out the pastries being sold right next to the açaí station in the store. The macadamia nut and honey sticky bun is to die for! Seriously, you'll thank me later.
