Abstract

The coupling effect of rock mass stress and groundwater seepage fields in different strata contact areas is an important affecting factor of rock mass permeability and engineering stability. In this work, the theoretical calculation formula of permeability coefficient when different lithology rocks were located on two sides of single-fracture rock mass was derived on the basis of the fracture–rock displacement model under 3D stress. The samples used in the permeability tests were single-fracture fine sandstones, single-fracture gritstones, and composite rock masses made up of fine sandstone and gritstone. The change law of permeability coefficient with the fracture water and confining pressures was analyzed on the basis of the permeability tests. Under simplified forces applied in the test, the correctness and applicability of the derived formula were validated. The research results are of great significance to the stability of underground engineering of multi-layer rock mass under the action of groundwater.
