If you put something in the "Business phone" field, then delete it, it should let you create the guest user.

I am also having this issue. Added the phone number. Received the error - "User invitation failed" The Primary SMTP address is an invalid value. Cleared the number from the form and the previous error appears.

I am hitting this issue today as well, I generally add new users almost daily, there must be an issue with Microsoft or a change that we don't know about.

I added a number to Business phone, advanced to Assignments, returned to Properties and deleted the number, and then was able to Review & Invite successfully. Thank you @Manny Lopez

I confirm that it works for us also by adding a number in the business phone field and deleting it just after is allowing the user invitation to continue

Notices on the review page that the Business Phone number was showing as blank on the summery. I never normally fill that in but entering 999-999-9999 resolved the issue. ( I then when back and removed the number and it worked then) Not sure why that became a required field ??

Same issue over here. The accepted answer of adding numbers in the business phone field, tabbing out, going back to the field and removing the phone fixed the issue. It's some odd bug and we should all be reporting this in our Admin Center so Microsoft is aware. Please do this so they can fix this. https://admin.microsoft.com/#/servicehealth/:/reportanissue

Per my MS contact: Put something in the "Business phone" field, then delete it and try to create the user again.

This hack also worked for me. Note that initially the Invite button was greyed out for me.

I returned to the Basics page and toggled the "Send invite message" on. The Invite button then became active (even after I then returned to toggle off "Send invite message". I was able to create the user.
