About

Corpse Husband is a YouTuber who initially focused on publishing creepypasta readings. In 2020, his release of several popular songs as well as his Among Us Let's Plays led to a sudden and immense peak in his online popularity.

Online History

YouTube Debuts

The YouTube channel Corpse Husband[1] was created on June 16th, 2015, and its creator uploaded his first video on July 18th. He scarcely but regularly posted such videos, which consisted of readings of various creepypastas. Viewers noticed his deep voice, leading to him growing a small following.

Music Release

On March 6th, 2020, Corpse Husband release a video clip of an original song, "MISS YOU!," on a secondary channel that he created on October 16th, 2015, but had not yet used until then: CORPSE.[2] This clip grew very popular, gaining 5.8 million views in 8 months (shown below).

On September 30th, 2020, he released his sixth song, "E-GIRLS ARE RUINING MY LIFE," a collaboration with Savage Ga$p. This video was the most viral of Corpse's musical career, gaining 13.7 million views in less than 2 months. It led to the channel CORPSE reaching the symbolic bar of 1 million subscribers in the following month.

Among Us Let's Plays

On September 9th, 2020, YouTuber PewDiePie released his first Among Us stream in collaboration with less famous YouTubers. Among them, Corpse Husband was most noticed thanks to the impression his voice left on his fellow players and the video's viewers. On September 30th, 2020, during another such stream, which featured PewDiePie and Jacksepticeye, Corpse Bride publicly announced the release of his latest music video. This is likely one of the reasons why "E-GIRLS ARE RUINING MY LIFE" became so popular.

Corpse Husband has also released several Among Us videos on his channel, with the most popular example gaining over 20 million views.

Fanbase

As of November 2020, CORPSE has over 1.17 million subscribers, and the main channel Corpse Party went from over 1 million subscribers to over 4.9 millions over the course of 2020.[3] In parallel, a lot of fans made fanart of his profile icon, and many joked about how the fanbase was simping for him.

One of the characteristics Corpse Husband is famous for is his dedication to staying anonymous. This led to parodic "hand reveals", which were first instigated as a joke by Corpse Husband himself on Twitter[4], claiming that he would do a hand reveal if he ever reached the symbolic bar of 100,000 subscribers on Instagram in the next 24 hours, which is just what happened. The associated hashtag, #onlyhands, even became one of the top trending hashtags in the USA.

You know that trope in cartoons where a male character becomes so incredibly handsome for some nonsensical reason that everyone around him swoons over him, even the straight ones..? Corpse does that with his voice alone, in real life and with people not even knowing his face.
