Surprise, surprise! Our progressive web app (PWA)—or Ka. Web App Beta as we call it—is officially live! By going to my.ka.app/signup, you can already buy crypto, send and receive crypto payments, convert cryptocurrencies, and lock up KASTA tokens on your web browser.
The best part? The Ka. Web App Beta is now accessible in 179 countries/locations! (Our mobile app was previously available in 39 countries). We know many of you waited for this, especially Kastians outside of Europe, so we can’t wait to welcome you on board!
Note: For the time being, the PWA won’t be accessible to new EU customers. We will notify you when it is.
What Is the Ka. Web App Beta?
The Ka. Web App Beta is a modern web application that uses the latest web technologies to provide you with a convenient, app-like experience directly through your web browser. It is responsive, adapting seamlessly to various screen sizes, from smartphones and tablets to laptops and desktops computers.
The PWA is currently labeled "beta" since it doesn't encompass the full range of features you can access in the mobile app. However, we're actively developing it and are aiming to introduce additional features in the upcoming versions as well.
Just like native mobile apps, you can add our PWA to your home screen for easier access without downloads or installations involved.
What Features Are Available on the Ka. Web App Beta?
Some of the features available on Ka.app are also available on the web app, while the others are being worked on. But, we have a surprise! One unique feature designed specifically for the PWA.
1. Buy Crypto
The Ka. Web App Beta offers payment options for buying crypto that aren’t available on the mobile app. We’ve integrated Ramp, the Web3 financial infrastructure, into the PWA, so you can now buy crypto directly through wire transfers, your credit or debit card, and more. The “buy” option which is currently available on the native mobile app refers to converting euros to crypto.
Please note though that Ramp may not be available in some regions where you can access the PWA. If that’s the case, you’ll be able to access all features excluding the buy functionality.
2. Send and Receive
Ka.app is designed for easy crypto payments, so of course, our send and receive features are available in the Ka. Web App Beta as well. You can send and receive payments for free when other Ka.app users accept the assets in the same currency (e.g., sent in Bitcoin and received in Bitcoin). Transactions are usually completed within seconds!
3. Convert
All of our existing conversion pairs are available on the Ka. Web App Beta. You can easily convert one crypto to another within seconds.
4. KASTA Tiers
Just like on the mobile app, you can enter tiers that offer annual percentage yields (APYs) and discounted conversion rates by locking up KASTA tokens in the web app for six months.
Our highest tier offering is Tier VII. In this tier, you can earn 15% APY by locking up a minimum of 50,001 KASTA tokens and up to a maximum of 1 million KASTA tokens. KASTA Tier VII is available on a first come, first served basis; and it will close once we reach the 50 million token lockup limit.
How to Sign Up for the PWA
If you’re an existing Ka.app user, you can use your existing login information on the PWA, including your PIN. You can login at my.ka.app. As mentioned in the note at the beginning of this blog, the PWA will be temporarily unavailable to new EU customers.If you don’t have a Ka.app account yet, here’s what you need to do:
1. Go to my.ka.app/signup.
2. Choose your country.
3. Sign up with your email address.
4. You will receive a verification link via email. Click on the link to verify your email.
5. Set up your PIN code and confirm.
6. Enter your name and date of birth.
7. Click continue and you’re done!
