Sign language speakers are at a disadvantage in terms of health literacy due to the lack of health education materials in sign languages. Deaf and hard of hearing (DHH) individuals are excluded from health literacy research due to the lack of measurement tools in their language of excellent fluency. This study aims to provide the literature with a tool that allows the measurement of health literacy among DHH individuals. The Turkish Health Literacy Scale (THLS)-32 was translated into Turkish Sign Language (TSL). After the THLS-32 was translated into TSL in video format, it was tested for validity and reliability. The translated version of the scale was administered to participants from a DHH association in Turkey who are fluent in TSL. Subsequently, a study was conducted with 207 DHH individuals. Anti-aging is a rapidly growing social movement in society. The negative attitude towards old age, which is one of the normal life periods, has been developed, and therefore the media has an important role in mediating old age. The purpose of this study is to make a qualitative analysis of the rhetoric about the aging of the written press and to identify the messages given to it through aging news. With this aim, 4 newspapers that have high circulation in Turkey at national level and one magazine’s annual publication of to the period in 2016 were screened retrospectively and identified 248 articles were taken into study. The texts and images of the news were analyzed by content analysis method. According to the findings of the study, the most mentioned issue in the news texts is that the aging can be prevented. The high epidemic rate of COVID-19, its impact on the shrinkage in the world economy, and changes in the daily routines of people show that it is not only a problem that concerns public health, but also a major concern which coerces people (and countries) all over the world to rethink in the name of sustainability of contemporary lifestyles and to work on systemic changes. Undoubtedly, health tourism is one of these subjects. In this chapter, the authors present an overview of COVID-19's effects on health tourism and tourist health.
