This is a rather delightful, tufted grass from high up in the Alps with white, spiky flowers in loose, arching panicles. A grass for boggy areas, this slowly spreading evergreen perennial forms loose clumps of flat green leaves.

Comments: Clusters of white, fluffy flowers, appearing in spring, give this grass its common name. The flowers are on two-foot stems and will eventually turn brown and persist.
