I have a question about English grammar. "Life is sweet as honey", a lyric of BTS' dynamite, seems to be ungrammatical because I guess "Life is as sweet as honey" is a grammatical sentence. Is it grammatically acceptable (or possible) to make the sentence shorter without the first 'as'?

Ohhh i wouldn’t use this song to learn grammar from :)) Yes it should be “life is as sweet as honey”. But actually getting rid of “as” is really common to do in speech.

It's a song. Grammar pretty much comes second to making things have a rhythm.

@ryu0215 it is grammatically correct. "as" in that sentence is like you are pertaining to a certain thing. ex. we all know that Honey is sweet.

“Life is sweet as honey” makes sense, though to be perfect grammatically it should be “life is sweet like honey”.
So they are just not worrying about exact grammar haha.
