Sort of.
He has a shower usually means he owns a shower.
He's having a shower means he is currently in the shower.
"Has" is a conjugation of "to have"
"Having" means doing something.
I'm having fun.
I'm having fesenjan for dinner.

has+ing = having
Examples:
After he has a shower, we can leave.
He’s having a shower. After that, we can leave.
He has three books (that are) signed by the author.
He’s having three books signed by the author.
Compare to the first person singular:
After I have a shower, we can leave.
I’m having a shower. After that, we can leave.
I have three books signed by the author.
I’m having three books signed by the author.

@DaveW Would you please tell me what you use when you wanna add something or ask your friend about something that is not related to the last sentence that you wrote? I use ( by the way,...) but I want to know another one and also I don't know it is informal or formal, it is ok to say it to a friend or not.
