The panelist took aim at — but did not publicly name — a former costar for influence peddling during a discussion about the House of Representatives authorizing an impeachment inquiry into President Joe Biden on Thursday. “Joe Biden’s crime is being Hunter Biden’s father,” Navarro said. “Look, did Hunter Biden influence peddle on his last name? Yes, he did. So did half of Washington — people sitting at this table did it.” Ana Navarro. Lou Rocco/ABC via Getty The rest of Navarro’s cohosts appeared shocked by the accusation, with Sunny Hostin putting a hand to her chest and Whoopi Goldberg turning toward the audience. Alyssa Farah Griffin then asked, "Who at this table did?" Navarro carried on with her speech without responding to her costar, adding, "Did Hunter Biden cheat on his taxes? Yes, he did!” However, Griffin and Sara Haines were still stuck on her previous assertion. Griffin then doubled down, repeating, "Who at this table peddled on their last name?" To which Navarro then responded, "I’m not talking about currently." Ana Navarro. ABC The comment caused a visceral reaction from the entire table, with Hostin bursting into laughter and Haines and Goldberg letting out surprised yells. "We just wanted to clear our names!" Griffin, with her hands raised, replied through her own laughter. Haines added, “I was like, ‘Oh my God, do I have a claim to fame that I’m not using?’” “Can I please go back to my point now that we’ve finally caught on?” An unimpressed Navarro asked. "Now that we've cleared it up, yeah," Goldberg replied. "It took a while."
