MONOTONOUS LIFE

How often do we come across questions such as, “How’s life going?, “What’s new?”

Though we are all different, and believe that we are dynamic in our own way, most of us are tired of our mundane life. According to me, the most important thing is to be happy. We are insistent on following routine, even when we want to take a break from our hectic schedules. Our life is often measured by our actions and our habits. Smashed by reality, finding beauty in what we have, we forget that we are just living a monotonous life.

We all have one soul, thousands of feelings, yet live the same tedious days. We take pride in being punctual, maintaining a standard routine, striving to improve ourselves and settling for the things that surrounds us.

But why not create some memories to cherish too? We are alive to make a difference; we are given the opportunity to feel our existence. So why not take out some time out of our busy schedule, and break the walls of monotony and spend time discovering new places, gathering more knowledge and engaging with more people. And the next time someone enquires about our life, we will have profound things to tell about.

However, we are worried about things going wrong. We are scared about running out of time, money, and moreover we are afraid to step out of our comfort zone. Though some things are unavoidable, we can surely bring out some changes to the way we get through each day. Being a part of a metropolitan city, I follow the same routine. Every morning, getting ready, travelling, attending college, and spending each day doing mundane things. And then there are days when I feel frustrated and desolated. So why not let some light in this bustling busybody?

It’s essential to treat ourselves right. Let us refrain from using our mobile phones, computers, etc. And try new things such as travelling, when I say travel, it may not always be a long trip, but maybe within our own city. Try out new theaters, beaches, parks, and there are plenty of alternatives to rejuvenate ourselves.

However, living a monotonous life is not always bad. It helps us maintain lasting relationships, work for our goals, and bring positivity in life to deal with the highly pressurizing schedules of our life. But all that we need to remember is, “Life changes in a dime, so live life to the fullest.”- Max Holloway
