Description
About UPS Systems
An Uninterruptible Power Supply system, UPS, protects hardware in applications where a disruption of power simply cannot take place.
UPS systems provide a solution for common power problems:
- Voltage Spikes & Reductions
- High-Frequency or Oscillation Noise
- Instability
- Harmonic Distortion
Common applications that employ UPS systems:
- Data Centers
- Telecommunications
- Process Controls
- Other Critical Equipment Environments
Types of UPS Systems
Double Conversion/On-Line UPS System
- Always connected to the inverter
- In the event of power loss, the system battery keeps power flowing as if nothing happened
- Once power is restored, the normal system takes over and re-charges UPS system batteries
- Biggest Advantage: its ability to essentially provide an electrical firewall between the power source and the electronic equipment.
Line-Interactive UPS System
- A simpler solution to common power problems
- Offers surge protection and battery backup
- Allows equipment to be directly connected to the utility power source
- If a rise fall in normal voltage is detected, the system kicks into place
Toshiba
Single-phase UPS models range from 1 to 22 kVA, while three-phase single module systems range from 15 to 2,000 kVA, and three-phase parallel module systems are available in 80 to 16,000 kVA. All Toshiba UPS systems have a wide range of optional accessory gear available including DC backup solutions, maintenance bypass cabinets, and power distribution equipment.
These End-to-End systems are suitable for a wide range of applications including datacenters, telecommunication, retail, healthcare, broadcasting, commercial, emergency lighting, and industrial.
Staco
On-Line Double Conversion topology provides the highest protection to mission critical facilities.
