I Didn't Delete My Linkedin Account
Despite the fact you can't find a trace of me on Linkedin anymore.
I would have never guessed, that sharing my opinions on Linkedin would lead to my account getting taken down, but it did.
Like any other day, I wrote a simple post titled “Why Adyen Executives are Leaving”, based on the news that one of their US-based Executives was leaving to join Plaid.
Like other posts I wrote about Shopify, Stripe, JP Morgan, and Fiserv, it did pretty well.
Some responses were more opinionated than others, but throughout the day, I got a lot of praise and compliments for sharing my insights, and a few warnings that Adyen has proven itself to have a quite vindictive nature, which I brushed aside.
Like all of my posts, the insights I share are my opinion, based on extensive research, experience, and conversations that I have with industry insiders.
But getting my account taken down, because my opinions hurt someone’s feelings, feels a bit harsh.
To make matters worse, they even blocked my Sales Navigator and my Advertising Account, and restricted access to my business partner as well.
As with all account takedowns, even though this is the first time for me, I had to jump through a couple of hoops, like submitting my ID, having to do Captha, and a bunch of other stuff, but of course, I got an immediate reply, saying that it could take several days, and the Linkedin staff is swamped with tickets.
So we will have to wait and see, if they reinstate my account, or that the powers that be, have permanently banned me from the Linkedin platform.
Luckily, I took the advice of many others before me and started this Newsletter to “own” my audience.
Hopefully, Substack will allow me to do so.

Dwayne Gefferie
If it isn’t reinstated, I will. The idea was short post there, long form strategy content here. But like Mike Tyson says, everyone has a plan till they get punched in the mouth 😂
I had bookmarked your Adyen article earlier and was perplexed as it was not showing up now. Its sad LinkedIn does't promote free speech. Will continue following you here.
