The legend provides information that helps the viewer identify
what is represented in a visualization. You can specify the position of the
legend within the visualization and what items it should include.
Procedure

Right-click the visualization, and select
Properties in the opened menu.
The
Properties pop-over is shown.

Click
Legend.
The
Legend section is shown.

Beneath
Position, select
Right to display the legend at the upper right
of the visualization, or
Left to display it at the upper left of the
visualization.

Beneath
Max number of values per legend item enter a
number to specify how many values you want to show per legend item, or use the
arrows to increase or decrease that number.

Beneath
Display the following legend items, select the
check boxes for the items you want to show, and clear the check boxes for items
that should be removed.
Some selected items are visible only when they are used.
Tip: For
some items, you can specify in detail what to display. Click an item in the
Legend section, and select and clear the
Show title and
Show axis selector check boxes beneath
Settings for selected legend item to get
different display options. Examples are shown below:
By selecting and clearing the
Show values horizontally checkbox, you can
for some items decide to show their values horizontally at the top or the
bottom of the visualization or to keep them in the vertical legend. To show the
item values horizontally, you can also click this icon
next to the item title.
This is possible, for example, for the items
Color by or
Shape by.
