The Nikon F3 is an SLR (single-lens reflex) 35mm camera, released in 1980. The F3 is a well balanced combination of an electronic, mechanical and optical device. It became universally loved, suiting everyone’s needs because of the module design and pushed Nikon to the top. This camera changed the game in the world of photography.

The F3 body was designed by Italian automobile designer Giorgetto Giugiaro. He was famous for designing supercars for BMW, Ferrari, and Volkswagen. Giugiaro added the thin red accent down the handgrip which from then on became a signature feature for almost all Nikon cameras. In the mid-‘80s, Giugiaro was a living legend, branching out into industrial design with Nikon, Apple and Seiko.

The Nikon F3 is still being used today by photographers in the fine arts. It’s versatility and
