How can I make this room feel less empty and more creepy

I don’t feel like this room feels filled enough is there any way I can make it less empty?

Thank You!

If you’re going for creepy, why not have some of the furniture on the roof, disobeying gravity…?

Depends if you’re going for a supernatural theme though!

Hi there Astra!

This is a common hurdle to tackle in Environment Art & Level Design.

Some quick questions to think on:

  1. Does the room need to be the shape it is? Perhaps it can be shrunk in width or length.
  2. Can you add a support beam or wall in the empty space?
  3. What objects can fill the space that fit in with the narrative and context?

Hope those questions help you find answers you are looking for! Use reference and take a look at other room layouts to see if you can come up with a couple of ideas to try.

Make it darker and do what @GenericQuickScoper said

I always say this, dirt rubble trash! Work on stuff. Add dirt, add rubble, add some trash! Makes the scene more alive and more spookier! Make sure to also keep the lighting down low to make it feel more ominous and creepy.
