Seth MacFarlane‘s animated sitcom Family Guy has been around for 22 seasons and counting, so it’s no surprise that they’ve covered nearly every topic under the sun throughout their run. One such recurring event is Halloween, with several different episodes over the years honoring or taking place on the holiday and celebrating it in the unique, slightly crude, and extremely entertaining way that only this show can.

Family Guy takes place in the fictional city of Quahog, Rhode Island and revolves around the dysfunctional Griffin family, consisting of bumbling blue-collar worker Peter (MacFarlane), stay-at-home mother Lois (Alex Borstein), family scapegoat Meg (Mila Kunis), awkward Chris (Seth Green), evil genius infant Stewie (MacFarlane), and their anthropomorphic dog Brian (MacFarlane). With the Griffins and their friends, amusing and chaotic highjinks are everyday occurrences, so when it comes time to celebrate the whimsy and wackiness of Halloween, you know that you’re in for a treat.

We combed through the many seasons of Family Guy and narrowed it down to seven different Halloween episodes. Some of these aren’t explicitly Halloween specials but they have enough on-theme seasonal haunts, horrors, and hilarity to make the cut. Here’s everything you need to know about how to watch each Family Guy Halloween episode now:

FAMILY GUY HALLOWEEN EPISODES (IN CHRONOLOGICAL ORDER):

  1. “Petergeist” (Season 4, Episode 26)

Originally released in 2006, “Petergeist” makes no mention of Halloween but it still qualifies for this list due to its references to 1982 supernatural horror film Poltergeist as well as the general focus on the paranormal. After the Griffins’ neighbor and Peter’s friend, police officer Joe Swanson (Patrick Warburton) builds a new home theatre system, an envious Peter attempts to build a multiplex in his own backyard. But in his digging, Peter discovers an Indian burial ground from which he removes a skull that unleashes a curse of the Griffin home and causes Stewie to disappear.

  2. “And Then There Were Fewer” (Season 9, Episode 1)

This also isn’t technically a Halloween episode, but since it parodies both Agatha Christie’s hit 1939 murder mystery novel And Then There Were None and 1985 comedy mystery Clue, we feel that it’s got more than enough holiday spirit. “And Then There Were Fewer” sees the citizens of Quahog invited to the remote island mansion of actor James Woods. There, a series of murders occurs, forcing the group to work together to figure out who the killer is and stop them before it’s too late.

  3. “Halloween on Spooner Street” (Season 9, Episode 4)

Released in 2010, “Halloween on Spooner Street” sees Peter and Joe team up to pull some Halloween pranks on Quagmire, ending with one by Joe going way too far. Stewie’s first experience trick-or-treating is marred by bullies stealing his candy, prompting his to hatch a revenge plot to make them pay. Meg tries dressing up in disguise hoping to anonymously hook up at her first high school Halloween party, but her night doesn’t go as planned.

  4. “Quagmire’s Quagmire” (Season 12, Episode 3)

Halloween is more of a subplot in this episode than anything else, but it’s still relevant so we’re counting it in this list. The seasonal part of “Quagmire’s Quagmire” involves Lois and the kids preparing for Halloween by digging through storage, leading Lois to find Stewie’s old teddy bear, Oscar, leaving the baby torn between Oscar and his newer bear, Rupert.

The episodes main plot, however, revolves around the Griffins’ neighbor and one of Peter’s best friends, Glenn Quagmire (MacFarlane), as he gets involved with a woman whose sexual appetite rivals his own. But when her proclivities begin to be too much even for the famously perverted Quagmire, he quickly finds himself in need of rescuing.

Nothing says Halloween like trying to write a horror movie with your best buds, and that’s exactly what Peter, Cleveland Brown (Mike Henry/Arif Zahir), Quagmire, and Joe try to do after watching the bad sequel to their favorite horror movie. The guys go to an abandoned asylum for inspiration but things quickly spiral out of control when they accidentally kill someone.

Whilst handing out candy to trick-or-treaters, Quagmire hits it off with a woman accompanying her niece but scrambles to keep up the ruse that Brian is his pet upon learning that she’s an avid log lover.
