Inspirational Bible Verses – Philippians 4:13 – Christ Strengthens Me

Philippians 4:13 I can do all Things

Philippians4:13 I can do all things through Christ which strengthens me.

The most common thought that we as believers have when reading and quoting this verse pertains to overcoming and accomplishing things. And that is the correct way to see this wonderful piece of truth in the scripture. However there are other ways that these words can be applied to our lives and as we see them in that light, they become powerful tools that we can use to live a happier more fulfilling life. I will talk about both aspects of this verse.

This verse holds the key to us as believers overcoming adversity in Christ Jesus. This verse does not tell us that we are superheroes able to leap tall buildings or fly through the air. What the scripture reflects here is Christ’s power and ability in our lives.

I can do all things . . .

All things, obviously means submitting to the will of He who is our strength and the source of all our power to achieve the incredible or even the ordinary.  ”All things” refers to the will of God for each and every one of us who are in Christ. This verse does not give us license to accomplish our own selfish plans or carnal desires. All things refers to whatever is the will of the Father, He will give us the strength to carry out His will.

Our relationship with Christ offers us the confidence to step forward in faith, believing that in God’s hands we will achieve success. There are many tremendous feats that can be accomplished when we are submitted to God’s will, and rely on Christ as our strength and supply. Christ is the ultimate definition of triumph as he conquered death and rose again, accomplishing the greatest victory ever recorded that we might believe. Our success is in Christ, and we too can triumph over the struggles we have in life and obtain victory by submitting our will to Him and letting Him be both our offense and our defense. We all want to be happy and have a successful career in our life. Realizing that it is Christ who will give us the strength to achieve all our goals in life and overcome when trails beset us—is the key to success.

The second view I want to take is doing all things through Christ can mean in our personal lives. As I mentioned above, all things obviously means submitting to the will of He who is our strength and the source of all our power to achieve the incredible or even the ordinary. There are things that God wants to accomplish in us that are extraordinary—we must just believe to see them take place in our life.

I can be a better friend through Christ who strengthens me. Through Christ I can listen with my heart, learn to help more, and give support when needed.

I can be a better Christian through Christ who strengthens me. I can hold fast when my faith is not strong and believe and learn not to waver when trials come upon me.

I can have a happy marriage through Christ who strengthens me. I can be a better spouse, and love unconditionally as He is the author of love. He is living in me and teaching me to love without fear and restraint. I can be pure and honest for my spouse as His strength lives in me, sanctifying my life.

I can have a happy home through Christ who strengthens me. I can be a better mother/father/son/daughter/sister/brother as He develops me, with His Spirit giving me the wisdom to love—and love freely—learning to be a servant to those in my family.

I can be a better employee on my job through Christ who strengthens me. I can set a godly example to my coworkers and be honest in my efforts always doing my best to accomplish that which is set before me, that in all the things I do – God might be glorified.

I can find the peace that my soul craves through Christ who strengthens me, while His joy fills my soul. He is the Prince of Peace, and offers me the peace that passes all understanding.

I can find the love in my life that I so desperately desire through Christ who strengthens me, and learn to relax and trust in Him for that strength to be my all-and- all. I will find the satisfaction in my life that gives me all the desires of my heart—this can only come from Christ my Lord.

I can do all these things through Christ which strengthens me.

  1. Amen Bro. Darrell….This message reminds me of last week when we had a 4 night revival at our church…The Evangelist brought out the subject of being in the will of God…He said that the church if it desires too can be in the will of God and the way we can be in His will.is to [1] Pray [2] quit brow beating one another [3] To stop listening to every tidbit of gossip that comes along [4] Stop thinking of always what we want and trying to lead the Holy Spirit of God, but to let the Holy Spirit lead and guide us into all truth…We alot of times receive of God and we then apply it to God showing everyone else that it was for them when in deed it was for ourselves…In other words we try to go out of the will of God to find our own strength when we just need to wait on God’s strength. We can of our own selves do anything, but God’s will gives us the strength to endure all things pertaining to this life. I have seen times when I didn’t have the physical strength to even raise my head, but God supplied my strength. There have been times when I had no spiritual strength and I had to turn everything over to God’s strength and His strength is what came through the Holy Spirit and carried me through…Praise God for that Supernatural strength..That is the strength that gets us through day by day….Just my thoughts…God bless you
