Negative Meniscus Lens

Negative meniscus lenses have a convex side and a concave side, with the edge being thicker than the center. This design can effectively reduce spherical aberration. These lenses are frequently used together with other lenses to lower the numerical aperture and are widely used in beam expander applications. Coligh Optics offers negative meniscus lenses in various materials and specifications, and can customize them according to specific customer requirements.

A negative meniscus lens is a type of lens with a concave surface on one side and a convex surface on the other, resulting in a curved shape that is thicker at the edges than in the center. This lens can be made from a variety of materials, including glass, plastic, and other materials.

One of the primary applications of negative meniscus lenses is in optical systems, where they are used to correct for various aberrations that can occur in lenses. For example, these lenses can be used to correct for chromatic aberration, which occurs when different colors of light are focused at different points. Negative meniscus lenses can also be used to correct for spherical aberration, which occurs when light passing through the lens is not focused properly due to the curvature of the lens.

In addition to their use in optical systems, negative meniscus lenses can also be used in imaging systems, where they help to improve the resolution and clarity of images. They are often used in telescopes, microscopes, and other imaging equipment to help produce high-quality images with minimal distortion or aberration.
