5-20-4: BUILDING HEIGHT:
   (A)   Measurement. Building height is measured as vertical distance from grade to the highest point of coping of a flat roof (or roof surface when parapet walls are provided) or to the deck line of a mansard roof or to the average height of the highest gable of a pitch or hip roof.
 
      1.   Exceptions. The following are not counted in the measurement of building height and may exceed otherwise stated maximum height limits:
         (a)   Chimneys, parapet walls, skylights, steeples, cupolas, domes, spires, steeples, false mansards, parapet walls, smokestacks, cooling towers, elevator bulkheads, scenery lofts, mechanical appurtenances or penthouses to house mechanical appurtenances.
         (b)   Buildings elevated to comply with flood-proofing requirements may exceed otherwise state maximum height limits. (Ord. 2021-4931, 11-15-2021; amd. Ord. 2023-5042, 12-18-2023)
