This 2007 Harley-Davidson VRSCDX V-Rod is a limited edition Night Rod Special powered by a DOHC 69ci V-Twin paired with a 5-speed transmission. The bike was was purchased new at Motor City Harley-Davidson in Farmington Hills, Michigan, and the selling dealer acquired it from the reported first owner two months ago. Modifications include a Vance & Hines 2-into-1 exhaust and engine protection bars. Now showing 2,500 miles, this V-Rod is being offered by the selling dealer with the original owner’s manuals and a clean Michigan title.
Finished in matte black with dual gloss black stripes, the Night Rod Special was a factory-built custom from Harley-Davidson’s “Dark Custom” series. Features include aluminum bodywork, a black engine case, slotted disc wheels, and a 240mm rear tire. Modifications from the previous owner include a Vance & Hines Competition Series 2-into-1 exhaust and chrome engine guards.
The slotted aluminum disc wheels are also finished in matte black with an orange pinstripe. Four-piston Brembo calipers with cross-drilled rotors provide the braking power.
In an effort to lower the center of gravity, the 5 gallon fuel tank is located under the seat. The traditional fuel tank serves as an air-box cover for the fuel injection system.
The handlebars are fitted with a sport fairing, and instrumentation consists of a 150-mph speedometer flanked by a tachometer and a fuel gauge. 2,500 miles are currently shown of which 14 have been added by the selling dealer.
Developed in collaboration with Porsche, the “Revolution” V-Twin is based on the VR1000 Superbike engine and features dual overhead cams, liquid cooling, and electronic fuel injection. It was factory rated at 120 horsepower, and a 5-speed transmission transfers power to the rear wheel through a belt final drive. No service records are available, but per the selling dealer an oil and filter change and a brake inspection were performed prior to acquisition.
