Identifying Features
High-bush blueberries have yellow-green to red colored bark with many shrubby stems. The leaves are alternate and simple, 1-3" long, and rounded. The top of the leaf is waxy while the bottom has some hair.
This plant can grow up to 12 feet tall!
Habitat & Range
High-bush blueberries are common in moist soils and in very dry soils. Their range reaches across much of the eastern United States and southern Canada.
Life Cycle
This plant’s flowers are 1/4" wide, white, and bell-shaped. It blooms in May and June.
