Max has put up a ‘coming soon’ page for The Penguin that includes a first look at the official logo for the series.

Despite reports that production has been shutdown due to the Writers Guild of America strike, Max has begun teasing the arrival of the upcoming The Penguin series. The service has put up a ‘coming soon’ page that features the first look at the logo and says:

The Penguin: Starring Colin Farrell, the eight-episode Max Original series continues the epic crime saga Matt Reeves began with The Batman.

It’s fairly clear that the logo shares the same design language that was used for The Batman, which, of course seems only right.

The series will see Colin Farrell reprising his role as Oswald Cobblepot, and Cristin Milioti has joined the cast as Sofia Falcone. Clancy Brown joined as Salvatore Maroni.

Carmen Ejogo (Fantastic Beasts, Alien: Covenant), Francois Chau (Lost, The Expanse), and David H. Holmes (Hulu’s High Fidelity) were the most recent additions to the cast, all in unknown roles.

Prior to them signing on, the last new additions announced in March included Theo Rossi (Luke Cage, Army of the Dead), James Madio, and Scott Cohen have all been added in unannounced roles. Also joining the cast will be Michael Zegan in an unknown role, but sources speaking with Variety indicate he will be playing Alberto Falcone.

Craig Zobel (The Mare of Easttown) has signed on to direct the first two episodes of The Penguin. He will also be serving as an executive producer on the project.

The Penguin project has been discussed for some time and was ordered straight to series shortly after the premiere of The Batman in March 2021.
