Delta Goodrem has raced back into action with new single, “Hearts on the Run”, which is also her first song of the year.

With ’80s-pop beats and funky guitar licks, the Australian pop icon delivers a high-energy anthem about embracing positivity and pushing beyond limits. In the song, she belts, “I’ve been racing, I’ll keep chasing,” capturing the feeling of determination akin to being in a marathon.

“I wrote ‘Hearts on the Run’ as a message that it’s possible to tap into an unyielding positivity,” Goodrem says. “I wanted to create a high energy feeling with so much momentum, that you can’t help but run. That feeling when you’re in the middle of a marathon, when your legs ache, when your breath is running out, and you question how much further you can go.

“It’s precisely in that moment that the song insists you can go further, driven by a combination of love and an unbreakable spirit. The song urges you to discover what you’re truly made of by pushing your own boundaries. This song was made to make me run! Your heart is on the run!”

Keep an eye out for the music video, set to drop this Friday, February 23rd, promising the ideal visual accompaniment to the tracks unapologetic ’80s vibe. Expect big hair, bedazzled denim, and Goodrem staying on-theme with some serious track sprinting.

“Hearts On The Run” marks a new era of music for the award winning singer-songwriter, producer, actress, and author following last year’s similarly ’80s-inspired hit, “Back to Your Heart”.

In 2023, Goodrem had quite a busy year. She made a return to the big screen in the Netflix movie, Love Is in the Air. Alongside that, she celebrated the 20th anniversary of her record-breaking debut album, Innocent Eyes, which debuted at number two on the UK official chart. On the live music front, Delta recently performed at London’s O2 Shepherd’s Bush Empire and also revealed plans for a main stage performance at London’s Mighty Hoopla in June.
